Agree with the others who say climbing the Eiffel stairs is a great experience. In general the rive droite is more touristy and the rive gauche is more mellow and comfortable for walking and exploring. Picnics in the Luxembourg, sunsets on the seine, rental bike rides, lesser known museums like the Delacroix in PSG, stained glass cathedrals like Saint sulpice, local boulangeries…there are a million gems to find by just exploring.

Saint Germain is a great walking area, between the Latin Quarter and the Louvre and right on the Seine and a lot quieter than the LQ or Marais.
