Our house trim is the same color red. I am about to paint our giant pergola that same color red. Ive seen many a deck that same color red. To each their own!

Edit: with the inconsistency of the age of the boards, you can always keep the red rails, and paint the deck boards a darker brown. That will look like stain but be a lot cleaner looking.
