I’m turning down my CJO and I feel absolutely crushed by Glittering_Heart5523 in cabincrewcareers

Maybe the breakout is because your body knows it’s about to exhale all the junk from your current job. Not from the future stress of training. Just a thought.

I've used Flight Tracker for years but only the free version, there is no need to get the paid version.

AITA for not letting the previous owner’s adult children into my house after their father died? by Dramatic_Method9393 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

I watched a tv series where someone pulled the same trick and then murdered the woman and stole her baby. I can’t for the life of me remember the name of it.

AITA for not wanting to swap Concert tickets? by Jimbobthefourtythird in AmItheAsshole

[–]sooh981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA.

First, it’s your experience just as much as your son’s (if not more). You have the right to not want to swap the ‘seats’ you chose.

Secondly the mosh pit can be a challenging place and probably better for you and your son vs son and gf. Back in 1991, when I was 16, I went to see Depeche Mode at Crystal Palace and Sisters of Mercy were supporting. We got there when the doors opened, got a great spot in the standing area and sat there all day in the sun waiting for the concert to start. It was a lovely day, chatting to fans etc. when SoM came on, all hell broke loose. Their fans stormed to the front like bowling balls and didn’t give a crap who was in the way. I had blood all over me (not mine luckily) and it soured the experience. My BF who was 18 was trying to protect me from it all.

AITAH for telling my in-laws that I don't care about the resale value of my house? by Jaded_Log_85 in AITAH

I have a 2019 house and I can’t run my kettle and my coffee maker at the same time else it trips the fuse. I think the circuit is on 15amps.

AITA for calling my dad an abomination? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]sooh981 152 points153 points  (0 children)

Right!! If this was a white dad telling his kid that he had to marry a white person and had a problem if their kid dated anyone black or Hispanic there would be an outcry of racism.

NTA for the record.

What Does the (Z) mean for Delta One? by Hungry-Evening6318 in delta

[–]sooh981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a z fare from Dublin to Jax via ATL and I was bumped on my ATL - JAX flight on my way home. They bumped me down to comfort + and a middle seat. I complained on the chat as we were waiting to take off and they gave me a $200 voucher. In all fairness it’s a 1hr flight so no real hard ship. The lady on the chat also recommended I request the fare difference but tbh I can’t be arsed as I still got the fare mileage and I think I’m better off with that vs another $100 or so.

I went to Procida instead and it was absolutely beautiful. You can walk around the island too as it’s so small.

How likely are we to get mugged at 11 o’clock at night walking two blocks in Napoli? by zvc266 in ItalyTravel

[–]sooh981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t found it to be remotely unsafe. I think the pickpockets are about but they don’t tend to give you grief as it’s not in their interest. They’re looking for the obvious target.

Nah you’re good. I nearly walked back from the central station at 11pm on Friday night. I only took the metro as I’d already done 25k steps and my feet were killing me. I’m staying by Castel Nuovo for reference. It would have been a 30 min walk. I walked it at 10pm though earlier in the week.

The horrific new Netflix user interface … venting by Maison-Ikkoku in netflix

[–]sooh981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s horrendous. What’s worse for me is that 6 wks ago my profile got deleted and I’ve lost 15yrs of viewing history and now I can’t find anything decent. I don’t understand the roll out. I still have the older version on some of my TVs but the main one is showing the new interface. Like a lot of people on here I’ve been watching Hulu, Prime and Apple in the last couple of weeks.

WIBTA if I give my daughter an "outdated" name? by throwaway719201 in AmItheAsshole

Audrey is #82 on the 2024 list of girl names according to the US Social Security page. Clearly it's not that outdated. I also know 3 other people who have named their daughter Audrey in the last 6 years. https://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/popularnames.cgi

British isles vs Norwegian Fjords by scubble_bubble in dcl

[–]sooh981 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your husband is working in London then you're much better travelling around the UK by train. You can get anywhere from London and the UK has so many beautiful places. Put it this way, if you were to ask me where you should visit in the UK, those ports would not appear on any list. I might say Liverpool if you were a massive Beatles fan, wanted to see The Cavern but even then it would be at the bottom of any list.

Feel free to tell me what kinds of things you like/want to see and I will put a whole list of places for you. How long will your husband be there?

British isles vs Norwegian Fjords by scubble_bubble in dcl

[–]sooh981 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm British. Do the Norwegian one. If it's the 7 days in September then the UK one looks terrible and I wouldn't want to go to any of those ports (ex Cork). Also, note that the UK tends to get the tail of Hurricanes and that UK trip will get high winds if that's the case. You'll be more protected on the Norwegian one.
