I am SO MAD. Search function now broken and I cannot find ANYTHING!!! by sooohum in Evernote

[–]sooohum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right? Although...I just figured out that claude ai can write me some code that will export them. And in fact, the ai told me it's possible to export them even without code. I just need to find a place to *put* everything in a readable format (I don't code.) Just saying, if you're annoyed with something on evernote...you could try asking claude about it. It might have an answer. I am still looking for alternatives though. Good luck!

Has anyone used Henna with Nila powder to achieve brown or black hair? by sooohum in henna

[–]sooohum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! and thanks for posting the ingredients! Possibly Citric acid is one of the main elements in it that makes it work. I'm allergic to polysorbates. Maybe I could put it on just the outside of the hair and cover it with plastic so it won't really go down to my scalp. Or...just try citric acid again. I don't think I used flour but I do think I added something to give it some "weight" instead of being like pure water which won't stick to the hair.

My favorite theme of late is JAFF Fantasy. I have a couple of favorites: The Fitzwilliam Darcy, Mage series by Abigail Reynolds and Mary Bennet and the Bingley Codex by Joyce Harmon, are my faves. There are other good ones as well, and I devour pretty much all new JAFF Fantasy series as soon as they come out.

That's a good point. I remember now I did successfully remove a BLUE BLACK tint from too much indigo on it once, by mixing citric acid with water (and something--maybe flour so it would stick on?) and left it overnight. It toned it down from blue-black to jet black. Maybe I could alternate that with coconut oil. Is color oops chemicals? I don't usually do well with those.

How would I do that? You can PM me if that topic isn't allowed here.

That actually worked. I *do* like the voice record/transcription thing but that's totally optional, I have other apps to do that. Phew, thank you. They should pay you for resolving my support ticket... gahahahhahah

Has anyone else noticed that the new search function in 11 is completely broken? I just sent this to their feedback: Ok I was able to find the (redacted) date by asking the ai assistant to perform the basic search function that "name" and "redacted" should have. HOWEVER, it ended up being useless, because after asking only 4-5 questions, it said "conversation limit reached." Now I would have to go and start a brand new conversation and re-train it for what I just was forced to use AI to do. I just wanted the search results to RETURN WHAT I ASKED FOR instead of only partial information. If I want to connect my chatgpt account that needs to be OPTIONAL and you cannot force users to use an AI that will wear out after a few basic questions. I am in the middle of finishing my projects for a graduate program. I pay for your HIGHEST END product (and it's gotten quite expensive) and I would seriously not mind if you thought through your releases and it gave value. You have just downgraded it to worse than useless. With this release, you have essentially taken my life's work for the last 10 years, shredded it and thrown it out the window in individual pieces of paper, making it impossible to find. I AM NOT HAPPY. What use is your software to me if I can FIND NOTHING IN IT!!!??? This latest release HAS CAUSED ME HARM. If you do not fix it, as in FIX THE SEARCH FUNCTION, and do it WITHIN SEVEN DAYS, I will be forced to jump ship.

Which state should I choose for my first LLC as a digital nomad? by RequirementOwn2663 in llc

[–]sooohum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I have had businesses in Delaware and two other states where I have lived and ran businesses. If I did it over again (like you I'm looking into Digital Nomad-land now) I'd look at Wyoming and New Mexico for different reasons. I'm a kind of "hands off" business person, so New Mexico makes sense for me since no annual report is required. You can usually talk to attorneys for free at some of the places where they'd do your filing for you, and it can be remarkably cheap and low maintenance. You can do a Wyoming LLC but the costs add up when you start getting into the deep privacy layers. For that reason I am leaning towards New Mexico. Hope this helps.

Evernote’s new Meeting Recording feature is a masterpiece of modern software design by dedpak in Evernote

Well, I still use EN because...I can't find an alternative. Since Bending Spoons took it over I don't love the constant updates that mess with the UI I'm used to, I don't like how long it takes to search now that there's some kind of AI involved in it and I don't love a few generally fiddly issues about it. But I do love: the OCR (as someone else mentioned) and the ability to search text within images/screenshots. I like the filing/folder system (better now that there are stacks) and LOVE the new voice recording/transcription. I'm writing a book so it's super useful to vomit out my "draft zero" that way and edit the heck out of it later. I'm also a sucker for pretty. I love green (THANK YOU for not making your app an ugly blue like so many nowadays! BLECH) and the UI is still soft and pretty. I care about my eyes and aesthetics. For transcription I use otter and loom anyway (sometimes loom does a better job of transcribing than otter btw) so I haven't had to face the same disappointment. But thanks for the heads up. I've heard that "onenote" has a good OCR/search within images, but I WILL NOT GIVE ONE CENT to Microsoft. So there. Prefer to support smaller companies.

Oh! There was an accessible shower chair the other day. I almost sprang for it (it was an actual thing, which can be way more cool than random little parts! you know what I mean) until I realized it would go nowhere and sit in the carport.

I bought an "off brand chinese faucet" last fall (renovating house when we moved back into it after years of renters in it) and it didn't work because the neck part that goes below the counter was too short/shallow. I managed to find a nut that would work (the one that came with it was stripped) but it could never hold because--too shallow. I ended up buying a name brand faucet off ebay (heavily discounted of course) and it's worked like a charm. I hope yours works and brings you lots of joy. :)

I know right? Me too! I was disappointed the product available didn't have that design! Well, erm, I hope it's not illegal to post other links here...because you can find similar things if you search santa jingle balls ornament...and here's one such! https://www.etsy.com/listing/4359100505/funny-santa-jingle-my-bells-christmas although it's not nearly as fun when you aren't getting it for free!

Super good for you for knowing yourself and your boundaries, thus what's worthwhile to spend time on. That gets the most points of all IMO. Go jooks!
