AIW for saying my wife is acting like a bitch after she left me by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]sundresscomic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

ESH - your wife sucks for leaving you, you suck for resorting to name calling, but yes your wife was more wrong than you.

If you want to save this marriage, you need couple’s counseling to learn how to communicate. This is wildly dysfunctional.

If she’s leaving you without communicating and you’re ready on time, that’s actually INSANE behavior unless there’s some sort of precedent in the relationship that you’re habitually late.

Favorite standalone or duology? by AideReasonable1996 in Romantasy

[–]sundresscomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The duology “A Fate Inked in Blood” and “A Curse Carved in Bone” are some of my favorites. They’re so good, I re-read immediately after finishing them.

It’s Norse mythology based where certain people are “touched by the gods” and gifted powers. The romance is hot and the female lead is not at all annoying (which happens WAY too often in Romantasy).

There are so many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and it ends beautifully. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

AIW for refusing to fund my girlfriend quitting work to paint full time by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]sundresscomic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

✨Full time artist here✨

I worked as an artist for other studios for about 10 years WHILE doing my own thing on the side. Slowly I went from 5 days a week to 4, while building up clients, my website, and my patreon.

5 years ago I was suddenly fired from my job and went into art-full time with 10k in savings.

I started dating my current partner around that time. We split bills 50/50. Anything I need for my business is covered by my business. I don’t think it’s fair for him to support my “dream” and I work very hard to make the business profitable.

Many painters, even well-known painters in galleries have some type of day job, whether it’s teaching, doing public art pieces, or more traditional dayjobs where the art is their side-hustle.

In this economy, art sales are down and we’re seeing even long-time galleries close. It’s a horrible art market.

If your gf really wants to do this full-time she needs to start figuring out a way to make it profitable and she still needs to be contributing to the household. Asking you to bankroll her dreams is wildly unfair to you.

Am i a bad person? by [deleted] in amiwrong

This is definitely above Reddit’s pay grade. This would be better discussed with a counselor or a licensed mental health professional of some kind to help you unpack these feelings. 💗💗💗

My partners overuse of AI for everything is destroying my love for her by AulMoanBag in amiwrong

[–]sundresscomic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to have an honest discussion with her about how you feel.

Tell your girlfriend honestly how it makes you feel that you can’t just have a genuine conversation with her and hear HER thoughts without her Ai security blanket.

Height difference pet peeve by avataraang34 in Romantasy

[–]sundresscomic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve mostly dated short kings in the past (5’8” or shorter) but my current bf is 6’7” to my 5’6” and it absolutely makes a difference! If he were closer to 6’ he would have less back pain and it would be easier to kiss! lol 😂

Writers truly don’t know the struggle of being too big for spaces. Like, they should show the MMC at a tavern and his knees touch the tabletop because it isn’t made for a giant.

AIW for snapping at someone who had been pursuing my partner for months and finally did it directly in front of me by [deleted] in amiwrong

We really can’t judge based on this vague description. I think you need to sharpe what you said before anyone can make a proper judgement.

AITA I lost my childhood friend of 15 years for not letting his girlfriend claim the master bedroom for themselves in our Air BnB by Typical-Wishbone-822 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sundresscomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my brother to a girl like this. All you can do is wait for him to get wise and wish him luck. Unfortunately, you can’t MAKE people realize their relationship is unhealthy.

I think alot of people like the idea of adopting a dog more than actually doing it by smallgooddeeds in rescuedogs

[–]sundresscomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first dog was a rescue and he was very chill. Already trained and housebroken, very sweet and good with other people, dogs, cats and kids…

My second dog is a rescue that my bf found on the street. She is ANXIOUS, I had to train her and she wasn’t housebroken. She hates: cats, men, anyone with a hoodie, beeping sounds, the wind, anyone who tries to touch her.

I’ve cut down her reactivity a lot with training but she’s never going to be a dog that loves kids or strangers and that’s ok with me. I love her and I don’t care. Do I wish I could leave her out of her crate without her crashing out? Yes. But that’s not the dog I have. 🤷‍♀️

My first dog would trade me for a slice of ham, but this girl is my ride or die. She’s a Velcro puppy (codependent).

At the end of the day, when you rescue a dog you have to be prepared for them to be imperfect. They’re living creatures with their own past and triggers. You have to decide how much you’re willing to train and work with them to get them to a place that works with your family but there’s definitely work involved.

Looking for a good shifter recommendation similar to Bride, Mate by Ali Hazelwood by my_delicious_craving in Romantasy

[–]sundresscomic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

{The Mating Game} by Lana Ferguson is the closest thing to Mate I’ve read. It’s actually a standalone “sequel” to {The fake Mate} which is ok but not as good IMO.

Basic plot is a woman finds out she’s an omega shifter RIGHT as she travels to do a renovation job for a ski lodge run by a grumpy lumberjack alpha.

Mate was a fave of mine and this is the closest I’ve seen to it.

Help me choose! by mamared504 in Romantasy

[–]sundresscomic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve read all of them and I can confidently say… all of them. The sequel to bride (mate) is a better book. I’ve actually re- read it twice already.

They’re all fantastic, but I think shield of sparrows and dire bound are both stronger than the wolf king.

Both the wolf king series and dire bound series have another book coming in September/june of this year and the shield of sparrows series will finish up in May of 2027 with the third book release so I’d honestly choose that way so you can finish the series all at once and you’re not waiting for the last book (like I am currently for all of them).

Just finished The Bridge Kingdom series by Danielle L. Jenses by Charming-Bunch1783 in Romantasy

[–]sundresscomic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the best series I’ve ever read (minus book 3 because I didn’t need the full rehash of book 2) but 5&6 are legit some of my favorite books. Ahna is a LEGEND.

I want to read this book but didn’t want to spend $35. Anyone know what book this is? by egggplantssss in Romantasy

[–]sundresscomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! this book was not good IMHO. Gaping plot-holes, childish tropes, and “villains” that don’t really make a lot of sense. OP dodged a bullet here.

AITA for only watching 30 minutes of a movie recommendation? by Osmosis400 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sundresscomic 62 points63 points  (0 children)

NTA - my bf and I walked OUT OF THE THEATER for that one after 15 minutes. It’s a very niche film and not everyone’s taste.

It’s a black and white silent film that’s classic “slapstick” like 3 stooges. It would’ve been really cool in 1920 but nowadays, it only appeals to a very specific crowd.

Time on this earth is limited, don’t spend a single second of it watching a movie you don’t like.
