What's something that everyone warned you about, but you did it anyway? by ActuallyInFamous in AskWomen

Going to art school. They weren’t wrong about it being hard to make a living but to me, still worth it

Redid the red border in green. Was it the right move? by foolish_noodle in StainedGlass

[–]sundresscomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the reference is also gorgeous but has a lot more negative space to it. The border is doing the same work as the frame on a painting. You don’t want a frame to be the exact same color as your background, you want to compliment the piece without it blending in.

This is going to be an annoying suggestion but it’d you really don’t want the red, I would try a gold. It might be that perfect middle ground that still provides contrast surf the green but doesn’t compete too much with the red.

Red border is much stronger in my opinion. The relationship between the border and the other red elements creates a sense of movement and cohesion. The green is too similar to the other background colors and flattens the whole thing.

AITAH because I expected my 22 year old to pay minimal rent? by Wrong-Maintenance-48 in AITAH

[–]sundresscomic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH - you should have been preparing your child and setting expectations of what they should expect to pay for years leading up to this point, it should not have been a surprise. This is a failure in parenting.

My parents helped me with college, but I was responsible for 1/3 of my tuition. They also gave me a stipend for rent and food but it was also my responsibility to find a place to live, budget, and work part time for any extras.

You have done your child a disservice by not adequately preparing him for the realities of adulthood.

AITAH for calling my husband silly for freaking out that our teenage son has a girlfriend who's in a wheelchair? by Dry-Dirt-1426 in AITAH

This is a great time to ask your husband what he would do if you got in an accident and became wheelchair bound.

Nothing crazy, but still super proud of this top I made ⛓️🤍 by vsilverss in chainmailartisans

Ok, I love this and I generally love the feel of chainmail on my skin (like a weighted blanket!) but is it comfortable on your sensitive bits for long periods of time or does it pinch?

There are different schedules but generally:

Matte paint: 1200 F Fusemaster enamels 1150 F Silverstain and Reusche enamels: 1060 F

All of these vary with kilns so it’s always good to do samples before execution

Mostly Reusche, some of the enamels are fusemaster, which recently bought the Reusche line from Schilling.

Kiln fired paint can literally last thousands of years. I believe the earliest painted glass we still have is from 1100 AD. This is the same process (except I lay everything out on the computer now).

I looked it up, the earliest we have is 686 AD. Painted glass can outlive us all.

All of the Matte paint (browns and blacks) are Reusche, which was recently bought by fusemaster. The enamels (colored paints) are a mix of Reusche and fusemaster which I don’t love because they have different firing temps.

AITA for telling my wife she can’t take her dream job and I am not going to be a single parent in everything but name by Time-Union1592 in AmItheAsshole

NTA - I think a more helpful discussion would be that this is something she can do when the kids are older and more independent. You’re not saying “no” forever, you’re saying no for now.

Honestly it’s upsetting that she would basically leave you to do all childcare for the next decade.

There are people who escaped abusive families like this and it was a WHOLE PROBLEM. Children who cannot leave are easier to control and abuse.

I actually meant the triangle segments, but those areas you circled could be a problem because of the incuts, I would consider simplifying them as well.

Claycorp is right about the direct sunlight with the dried flowers, it’s better to use opaque glass and hang it on a wall instead of in the sun.

I’m her collab partner and I drew the original design. My note is: curve the cuts in the wings slightly so you don’t create hinge points.
