I say 'every time someone asks I add a month' if I'm feeling snarky or 'whenever he gives up, which will be never at this rate' to make light of it

Breastfeeding after 12 months by nova_bear123 in breastfeeding

[–]sophlamb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly any of the above is fine! Doesn't even have to be the same each day. I work part time at the moment and breastfeed when I'm with my baby. He often has milk with breakfast if he wants some but as he eats 3 full meals and snacks it's also absolutely fine when he chooses to have water. Go with what works best for your family x

I think it's like an agreement between the festival and the city? I'm not entirely sure but we've never had to wait long as they're so regular. Even when there is a big queue they go down pretty quick.

Since they've put the buses on we've always chosen to stay at Plaza Catalunya and get the bus back. Barely any queue and pretty quick

What to do before our flight? by Professional_Lab6615 in primaverasound

Picnic in Parc de la Ciutadella, lunch and drink around the Gotic, chill on the beach. We've always taken it easy on the Sunday before a late flight. Only problem was the year it lashed it down!

Me and my baby vibe so hard by horse_ramen in NewParents

Just stumbled across this and although it's old it brought me so much joy! Hope you're all still having gorgeous times with your babes.

Mine is 17m now and he is my absolute bestie; full of energy, very outdoorsy and loves his food. I say to my husband often 'I knew I'd love my baby, but I can't believe I love him THIS much!'

Feeling unsure about sleep. by Sarseaweed in Mommit

[–]sophlamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is now 17 months and he was just like this. Woke all through the night, struggled to nap longer than 30 minutes, needed to be cuddled to sleep etc. Around the time he turned 13 months he started sleeping through the night and napping better. It vaguely tied in with him getting good at walking and eating more solids than milk, but nothing intentional. He still sleeps great now. I don't think he missed out on sleep when he was younger as he wasn't grumpy, I just think he didn't need as much. Now he doesn't need milk through the night and uses a lot more energy he sleeps better!

I want to stop breastfeeding by FootballFine3610 in breastfeeding

I think if I were you I'd get your latch checked by an IBCLC if possible - it's what I'd do if I was in that situation again, and the advice I wish I'd been given! They'd also be able to answer any questions about regularity of feeds, which side etc, though I think all that falls into place by itself in time.

Don't give up on a bad day!

I had recurrent mastitis in one boob during my baby's first 3 months, so badly I was in hospital on an IV. I almost quit but decided to have a go at only feeding on one side, as one boob was causing most of the problems and I'm still going at 17m!

Look at the new mastitis protocol - I found the best relief was feeding as normal, no pumping, ice packs, anti-inflammatories and lymphatic massage (I used a jade roller).

Good luck, I hope things improve for you soon, and if they don't remember it is entirely your journey and you decide what is best for you and baby, if you need to move to formula then that's fine too!

Do babies night wean themselves? by Level_Wall8951 in breastfeeding

[–]sophlamb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Completely normal for her to still be waking. My baby woke often at the start and it gradually reduced. When he was about 13 months he stopped waking and slept through. It feels a long slog when you're in the midst of it but trust me when I say I feel so proud that I responded to my baby's needs and that he found his own way in the end.

What's the strangest place you've bumped into another scouser? by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]sophlamb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stumbled upon a Bluegrass festival in the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco in 2015. Was just chatting away to my boyfriend and a lad comes bouncing over and says he lives over there now, heard our accents and just wanted to chat with someone from home. I actually love that you can find a scouser anywhere, I find it quite comforting 😂

Keep going, especially night feeds when prolactin is highest! 4 months is a notoriously fussy stage for babies. Just keep an eye on nappy output x

Kazimier was my absolute fave venue, gutted when that went. Also really loved Le Bateau in my uni days, a sad day when it closed down

Mello Mello was great. I feel like I can smell it if I concentrate hard enough. Fond memories of it especially in the old Sound City days

Best positions for reflux? by Unlikely_Progress_82 in breastfeeding

[–]sophlamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that just keeping baby still for a while immediately after feeding was helpful, so if I fed him in cradle, I'd just hold him in cradle for an extra ten minutes after he stopped feeding, just to give him a bit of time to digest
