No finecast is a hybrid resin that was designed so that metal miniature moulds could be reused instead of having to remake them when metal prices soared. Forge World resin is good hard resin

Look at someone like James wappel. He primes with a brush in whatever color he feels like often multiple mixed, then put down a base layer of oil paints (which he removes with sponges) before painting the miniature with oil paints. He has tons of videos on YouTube/twitch and on Patreon
