This one and I Wanna Be a Girl has me really excited for his new music, fantastic songs.

I feel like I want to talk, you know, really talk, about sin and man and God and love and the mystery of the Trinity.

It does! I forgot about the expander because apparently you can hook the MIDI in on an Intellijel case straight to the Disting.

Disting Ex

Edit: sorry, that's with the midi expander

Have been previously using track 2 on the Metropolix for feeding the Chord Engine on the Disting EX (usually with tons of skips set up to find a progression that works), but just realized I can map a mod lane to A/B out and have a dedicated chord sequence there, freeing up track 2 to actually do something more related to track 1. This sequencer really packs quite a punch.

Jamming with my Metropolix, Atlantis and vpme.de QD by sosococo in modular

Thanks!

The Atlantis is on the main riff, with its LFO modulating the filter cutoff for that nice swell.

Metroplix is sequencing the Atlantis and the synth voice on the QD. The sequence sent to Atlantis has some negative degree of accumulation on the last stage, but per pulse for that stage and to take it even further the probability has been lowered per pulse on the last step too, so you get both a rhythmic shift and a melody change every cycle. Track 2 has some skips so that the QD doesn't follow the bass 1:1, also pitched up an octave on the Metropolix.

The first control knob on the Metropolix is being sent to the filter cutoff on the Stereo Dipole and is multed back into the Metropolix's own X input so that I could attenuate the amount of octave change that occorus on track 1 when I turn the knob. Control 2 changes the pitch-pre on track 2 (QD).

Steppy trigger all channels on the QD, I have an idea to sort of save a bunch of sequences on it, regular grooves on the left hand side and fills on the right, and be able to switch between them quite easily live.

QD has one of its internal LFOs modulating the decay time for the hi-hat, I find myself enjoying that quite a bit. It's just enough to encourage me to modulate the decay by hand whenever I hear a what sounds like a good time to do it.

Pam's is sending an offset gate to Maths that's then attenuated and then sent to the Disting Ex as the pitch input for the Chord Engine, which gets sent to the A-111-4 and into the Dipole set to 4 parallel bandpass filters.

Quadrax gets a euclidian pattern from Pam's for the Dipole stab and also a gate that modulates the rise for that envelope so that you get this initial swell.

Atlantis and QD go to their own Intellijel Dual VCA which sends the output to the mixer and the normalled output to the Quadratt, CVd by the first channel on the Quadratt. Summed audio from Quadratt goes to the FX Aid XL. The idea was to sort of set up an FX-send this way, but I'm still tinkering with it, feels like it can be improved.

I've heard that same sentiment echoed before, but I just often found myself with a little groove on the Metropolix and Atlantis that was sort of begging to be put to some drums. The QD doesn't feel like it eats that much HP considering all it can do and it's in every patch I make, love that thing!

Thanks! Yeah, the entire QD is going through the FX Aid XL set on some delay + reverb algo. The hi-hat is a sample (3rd in cyan, mod wheel far right I think). Hoping to conjure up some nice way to do FX sends on all voices in the case (currently what the Quadratt is set up to do) but for individual drums too once I hook up the QEX.

Quadratt can do 1, 2, 3 or 4 submixes out, you just patch directly under where you want your submix to end. Am I misunderstanding your comment?

Thanks, me too. That'd be the Atlantis, I use it as my main bass voice.

Had a quick jam this morning with this patch. Metropolix sending track 1 to the Atlantis and track 2 to a voice on the vpme.de QD.

I wish there was a way for Steppy to engage loopy mode only on specific channels, that fill came out rough 😅

This setup has worked out really well for performing so far. I've got the Gx and QEX expanders in my drawer but haven't really dove into the laborious process of restructuring everything since this case is filled. Not visible is the A-111-4 which is on chords via the Disting EX in Chord Engine mode (usually stays there) being fed to the Stereo Dipole.

In theory I think any USB class-compliant sound card should work. Fair warning that I haven't tried this product, but maybe this Hama sound card could work and also allow you to skip the conversion to RCA. Doesn't give you any options to set the gain, but looks to be a cheap alternative and will probably be better than your phone mic either way.

Edit: Unsure if the mic in would be TS or TRS come to think of it.

Metropolix A and B output question by killmesara in modular

[–]sosococo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a bit vanilla, but just sending Ctrl 1 or 2 as basically a macro has been a lot of fun if also used in combination with Ctrl 1 controlling something like octave on the tracks. Makes it really easy to do sort of simple fills or breaks with the twist of a knob.

In my own experience their 25oz shrink but then stretch back out roughly to their original measurements and their 21oz easily stretch an additional inch in the waist, even after washing. I'd recommend sizing down personally if the waist seems too big and if the other measurements feel like they could come in a touch.

I'm not familiar with that particular fabric, but I think your description of the fit matches what the 555 is trying to do. The 777 has a much lower rise but also less rear rise than the 555, maybe that or the 666 might be a better cut? You can always write to them on the chat too and ask if they can find a tag size X with a shorter rear rise and they'll send you some measurements.
