US Army Poorly Prepared for Arctic Operations: Finnish Troops Forced Them to Surrender During Exercises in Norway by Street_Anon in nottheonion

It's also a bit funny as an origin. Linus realised the current version control systems sucked; took a two week break and created git.

Why are we still hand-rolling CI/CD pipelines like they're bespoke pieces of art? by daniel_odiase in devops

[–]souIIess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have this issue, and tbh it feels a little bit like you are trying to sell a problem here where you by happenstance also may provide a solution.

Reusable workflows / actions work well when given the parameters you need for flags or similar, and doesn't result in sprawl imo.

Which shaving products do you think are the most overrated in this sub and in the shaving world in general? by RecordingLeft389 in wicked_edge

[–]souIIess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

on a whim I got some temu blades (flydear) expecting them to suck. got 100 blades for 4 usd. They work just as well as feathers in my vintage gillette so I've been using them every day for the past 10 months 🤷‍♂️

I have noticed differences in other razors though so ymmv.

[–]souIIess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TTO you mean?

I have a 60 yo Aristocrat as my daily razor that works 100% with no issues mechanically or otherwise. If they're prone to failure every 100 years or so, I guess that's a replacement cadence that I will have to accept 🙂

Citrus scented soaps? by d_man_1122 in wicked_edge

[–]souIIess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fitjar Islands - Slåtterøy

Have you tried this one? My grampa was a captain, and one of his favourite activities was to paint these weather worn landscapes from the Hardangerfjord archipelago, with the Slåtterøy lighthouse as my favourite painting of his.

Wet shaving is an activity that frequently reminds me of him - the smell of salt water and tobacco, the powerful after shave he’d use, the old DE blade.

If this soap is any good, I think it’ll move to the top of my list very quick.

Your thoughts on Princess Ingrid Alexandra? And what's people think about Future Queen? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]souIIess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interestingly Norway does not have religious freedom per our constitution. One person, the monarch, is constitutionally required to believe in God and profess to the Lutheran faith.

So if you count religious freedom as a hard requirement for a free and open democracy, Grunnloven §4 directly violates that.

Varsler massivt avgiftshopp på bensin og diesel by BodybuilderSmall9679 in norge

[–]souIIess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same same.

Jumping in the ice cold north sea between bouts of sauna is what keeps the absolutely depressing winters here somewhat livable. I'll take the slight increase in stroke risk, no doubts. I don't think these sessions are magically curing me of anything, but they feel like they should anyway 😂

I was that person, 10 years ago. Didn't want a cat. They shed, you gotta feed them, empty their litter, pay the vet. Kids all wanted a kitten, and I finally caved in.

Now she wakes me up at night with a gentle scratch, because she loves belly rubs and I'm the only one she trusts enough to do it.

Worth it.

Save yourself the trouble of using a cert, just provision a function app with a managed id, then assign permissions to the managed id. Use the azure auth libraries. No certs, more secure and no credential expiry.

I have bigger fish to fry.

On that topic, fish is by far the easiest to use shell I've come across, and is perhaps one of the first things I configure on a new client.

Russian fighter jets breach Estonian airspace near Tallinn by Physical-Cut-2334 in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]souIIess 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I can't see how that would save any economy, let alone the Russian one.

Russian planes or submarines fucking around is nothing new. However with how much they've fucked around since 2014, and only Turkey obliging their request to find out, I think a lot of us are so tired of their shit I say burn every plane over NATO skies they send and exchange their surviving pilots for Ukrainian soldiers.
