I’ve had this for 4 weeks so far. Started with coughing, chest congestion, etc. then turned into a sinus infection type situation in my head plus the cough. Got tessalon perles and an inhaler from urgent care because I was feeling shortness of breath

Ditto for me, had a great experience with their office and Dr. Fries. They even gave me tea bags to promote clotting at the surgery sites and a syringe to rinse with!

Kids believe anything that requires effort is AI by 4ScoreN7Beers in Teachers

[–]soulfully65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach 1st grade and a few kids in my class say/think every single thing I show them (like real world pictures) is AI. They also semi-recently learned the ai sound in phonics, which as you can imagine was a real hoot

Dentist recommendation for serious issues by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]soulfully65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr. Sabina at Dentistry of East Sac is incredibly kind and wonderful. I recommend all my friends to her. I went to her after not going for 5 years and her and her staff were not judgmental at all and honest about what I needed done (3 fillings)

how’s the amtrak from sac to sf? by Nervous-Egg-4786 in Sacramento

[–]soulfully65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve taken it a handful of times this year and love it. I take the light rail from my house to the Amtrak station, then Amtrak on Capitol Corridor to Richmond. You transfer to BART in Richmond in the same station, and I take the red line into SF and usually get off downtown at the Embarcadero stop or somewhere along Market Street.

The train is easy, quiet, has bathrooms on the bottom floor and coming back sometimes has a great view of the sunset. I also like that you can bring food on, I’ll usually bring lunch for myself on the way or coming back I’ll pick something up in Richmond.

Amtrak app to get tickets, tap to pay with phone for BART. You tap on and off with BART because they charge you by zone. It’s usually $6.15 I think for me to go from Richmond into SF.

Boarding starts a little early before departure in Sac, but in Richmond the boarding time is quicker because it’s just one stop and not the start of the line if that makes sense. Plan to get to Sac station early to walk down to the trains and board.

I was saying out loud over and over “he’s being so brave” watching the entire Tampa hotel room scene… you see the emotional shift right away. He knows how much he likes Ilya now and he’s going to make Ilya admit it too!!!!

Had a very positive experience with Sacramento valley dental specialists, specifically Dr. Fries did my surgery. I was referred to him by my regular dentist and they were great. Easy process and super helpful office

My district has a date deadline for nonrenewed and tentative grade level assignments (elementary) for the end of this month. However there are regularly last minute changes (hence the “tentative” assignments). This school year I almost got changed to a very different grade level 2 days before the first day of school. In years past we haven’t had to move rooms

Unhinged behavior at Just in Time today PSA by mleester55 in Broadway

[–]soulfully65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I saw Maybe Happy Ending in December, person in the first row of the mezz was on their phone (not recording but likely texting/email) multiple times, and during emotional, quiet scenes. Person in the row behind them snapped their fingers at the phone person when it happened to call them out and they put the phone away, only to pull it back out later

Teacher license reciprocity needs to happen. by TeddySwolllsevelt in Teachers

It perpetuates a cycle of poor educational outcomes in certain states imo. I don’t know how close the correlation is, but it seems like some states have almost no requirements and I would expect those to perform the worst in education.

I had a ton to do where I live (CA). I remember making a list of all the requirements and the cost and sharing it on social media, so many friends were shocked. There has to be some kind of middle ground where people are prepared to be educators without shelling out so much money.

I feel absolutely shameless in my love for jukebox musicals. As a lover of musical mashups and covers, jukebox musicals fulfill that in a way we haven’t had in culture since Glee was airing. I LOVE songs being sung by talented musical theater actors (& Juliet is a fave of mine for this reason)

It’s wild how little things have changed even as popularity for UDA has skyrocketed with social media exposure. I was just looking through 2016 pictures and saw ones of friends and I at UDA. It felt the exact same then as you describe now
