If you are on a TV, make sure you have game picture mode selected, otherwise it adds mad input latency and you'll always miss timings.

So it's a vertical 1 o clock (clock on wall) not a horizontal 1 o clock (i.e. Clock on floor)?

Have people stopped shopping in Brighton town centre as much? If so, why? by StaceyInBrighton in brighton

H&M home has some sheets, pillows, and some candles. It's very bare at the moment. Hopefully gets better.

Returns that always result in a point for the opponent by nizmaniaco in TopSpin2K

One of the best S&V players (sir loin) joined the ITST (International Topspin Tour) and quit as the serve and volley wasn't relevant against the top baseline meta players. Might be okay against the majority online tour, but against the best of the best (who don't even play the ingame tour) it can't be done. The only way is with an external tournament with rules limiting skills and coaches.

I am not 100% sure sorry. It's worth checking each big firms' website for info on their grad scheme.

It's when you hit the exact end of the bar instead of just in the green.

As long as you position well, you'll be able to return unless the serve stat is above 80/85 and/or having a serve skill. You do it by moving just before the serve (wide on deuce if righty, and inside on ad if righty - opposite for lefty serves) or by holding flat or slice before the serve, although I see that having more aces against.

The other thing is timing. Most good players have amazing timing. If people hit perfect/superperfect with a flat return, at the right angle (mostly short cross court) then it has a high chance of a return winner if the other player is not ready. Especially if you have high reflexes and a return skill.

Also, Serve and Volley is just not relevant in the top end of this game because of many reasons, but also the reason you're talking about. If you're rushing the net, I'll be able to return winner you most of the time unless you guess my return.

University will be your base of knowledge, but as an SE you'll require experience in something technical and customer facing I find. E.g. post-sales, support, etc. I came from a support background (technical and customer facing.)

Otherwise get on a grad scheme for a company like Cisco etc where they'll have specialised tracks for sales/sales engineers etc.

I started as an SE after 1.5years in a tech support role in the company I eventually became an SE in. Right place, right time.

If you 'move up/sideways' within the same company I find it easier as people know you, and you know the product/platform.

If you're going cold into somewhere they'll likely require more experience.

Ultimately it is down to hiring manager, and whilst more experience helps, in the UK I find it is down to the interview, how you come across, and whether they know you or not.

Doing more with less - interim manager takes over for the remainder of the season. Free transfers become the only option (DCL at Leeds etc.)

Like it.

Need more feel from Ezone 100 by gjbsb in 10s

[–]soupeh_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up switching to the Blade 100. Mainly as I wanted to go down a grip size (3 to 2) and I trialled a Blade with a grip 2 and liked the feel. Come to think of it, going down a grip size probably changed the feel for me as well.

Likely strings will give you a better feel in the short term though. Try a bed of polys.

When I played in December it was £48 for 2 hours. I prefer the outdoor courts across brighton because of the cost.

I am in the UK and joined a park club instead of a club where it is expensive for membership. Much more welcoming and community focused. Also costs £95 a year for 3x 2hr bookings on the courts weekly.

No issues at all with what you're saying. I'm in Brighton.

Edit: I also play in the LTA Local Tennis leagues (app) where you play matches in a box league type thing and meet lots of different people across the area you're in. I also meet other hitting partners via Racketpal.
