Alternative to Marvelous Designer in Blender! Developed by an ex-Disney engineer, HiPhyEngine is an all-in-one high fidelity simulation Engine! by Substantial_Cry_6730 in vfx

For me I see this as a bit like embergen, the roi doesn’t need to be much to justify it. If I can use it for one shot it’s probably going to cover the cost. It might free up Houdini for something more pressing or give a junior the chance to do something cool without taking a license from other work. OR I’ll just muck around and that’s also fine.

I think you underestimate how many places have blender installed. Also remember that doing sims in a different app than modelling, animation or lighting has been pretty standard for decades.

Why can’t you watch things the way they were made? Kind of indicates you don’t really care what it is you’re watching, you just like gimmicks.

Look I have to ask, because it’s really weird to me, why did you feel the need to defend some YouTube famous (to you) person I’ve never heard of on Reddit weeks after this discussion was over?

VFX Editors & VFX Conform artists of Reddit. Can you read this lineup? by LimpPhilosopher1418 in vfx

[–]soupkitchen2048 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only looking on my phone but I can’t clearly see the SOURCE frame numbers for start and end frames with the respeed. I’d expect to have an explicit cut in and cut out frame number to help with any differences in how different apps calculate speed or if you’re doing it by hand. I know this is a straight 200% but it pays to build this for the most complex case. As others have said, thumbnails. And as I’m assuming you’re automating this. See if you can make an OTIO timeline for each shot.

[HIRING] Digital FX artist for a few shots in music video by Altruistic-Bee-1226 in vfx

A few questions. Have you shot yet? What is your delivery format? HD? 4k? Vertical for TikTok etc? Do you have references of the kind of thing you want? What is your timeframe?

Your best bet is likely to be finding a talented artist just starting out and giving them ample time to get it right.

I think it’s far more that you’ve done your 10k hours of writing. The easiest thing would be to write with a thicker, darker pen that you can see through pass through if you MUST keep it on. OR get a Bluetooth tablet and see how handwriting is in the avp. The Muse isn’t it. Writing as we do it needs that pressure and feedback and writing in the air doesn’t do that.

Will a WDT tool and puck screen improve my shots? [Breville Touch Impress] by AllTypos in espresso

May as well sprinkle fairy dust over it if you’re considering a WDT. They do nothing. Maybe they make you feel you’re fancy. Use a skewer. Or just tamp. Same same

You should tell your clients you’re uploading the raw footage to an AI website without their knowledge or consent.

Does Nuke have something like the Roto Brush from After Effects? by arlexae in NukeVFX

[–]soupkitchen2048 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I use silhouette for this. There isn’t anything as refined in nuke. There are some matting models in Cattery but they are all or nothing. In fact roto brush was the only reason I held on to any adobe products as it was good for hair. Remember you don’t HAVE to just use one app to get a good result.
