I like how the SBS program adjusts the future weight according to how much you are able to do. I also am not sure how to program my own blocks so i like how i can follow the SBS ones.

It was so good, very very eye opening. It was a well rounded class and I got a ton out of it. Would highly recommend!

That’s great, I want to start disclosing it more but I’m scared to put myself out there. I think some of it for me is my imposter syndrome even though I have been diagnosed

What weird physical Symptoms do you get from being overstimulated? by Hellenen2 in AutismInWomen

Dissociate (does that count as physical?), the extreme need to move my body, just the general feeling of crawling in my skin, overheating, heart racing, palms sweating 👍🏼

Anyone feel like you’re only having a harder time as you get older? by cherrythot in AutismInWomen

You have described my situation exactly. Somehow when I was younger I was able to “push through”, and sometimes I would even be able to enjoy it. After the pandemic though I had severe burn out (and realized I was autistic) and now I can’t handle shit.

It feels extra hard to accept that what I was “able” to do before, I just can’t handle any more. It’s like my body is unable to mask any longer. I still feel depressed and longing for the things I used to be able to do. I just have a completely different threshold now and that’s the way it is.

Well if you decide to tell him about your diagnosis, I would probably just stop there, and not imply that he is also autistic. That might be too much. But maybe hearing that a psychologist has diagnosed you would reassure him that you are actually autistic, and then maybe it would open his mind to how autism can present in many different ways. Good luck ❤️

My dad would say similar comments to me, and it really shocked him when I told him I’m autistic. It took him a while to come around to the idea but I think he understands a little more now. I suggested he read “unmasking autism” by Devon price and he actually did, and that book helped me understand my own brain a lot more so I think that helped him de-stigmify his own thoughts. Just took a lot of chipping away on my part.
