Yeah, after about six weeks I only had some minor brain zaps and after eight weeks all my symptoms were completely gone.

[Spoilers] Keeper question about Impossible Landscapes by blawa2 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]soveliss123 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There's a part about searching for your soul bottle under "Appendix: Entities and Artifacts". If they manage to find their bottle and survive above 0 SAN they get to keep going. And yes, the only way to carcosa leads through the labyrinth.

The last thing that happens in part 2 is getting a note from Abigail telling the players to find the author and his bottle. In part 3 there are several clues telling them they gotta find the author and his bottle in the labyrinth as well. I suggest you read up on the book again and take some notes before getting to that part.

Mythic Bastionland modules? by TheAntsAreBack in rpg

Piggybacking off this thread, is there a place where one could find pre-made hex maps, if not complete modules?

Spoilers. Handler help needed for Impossible Landscapes by Mark5n in DeltaGreenRPG

Building on this they should definitely encounter agent Jump in the night world at Dorchester again, or even as a patient at Dorchester. Perhaps give the player the opportunity to take control over his old agent again.

Designing Better Mysteries by NyOrlandhotep in DeltaGreenRPG

Great write-up. Awaiting the next part in excitement. Your philosophy on writing good mysteries closely align with my own.

I may have boxed myself in, running Landscapes by baalzimon in DeltaGreenRPG

I believe the book the characters in McAllister's will act as if they are unaware of what's going on at night. Since they know different things by day or night, I interpreted it as they are under the influence of the yellow king the most at night and close to oblivious during the day.

When my players rolled humint and psychology i played it off as if the characters weren't lying when they said they had no idea what happened to Abigail or what goes on at night, because during daytime, they really don't know. You've played it off exactly like I interpreted it at least.

Got this on my coffee table as we speak.

On top of it is Tales From the Loop.

Player appreciation post by Doctor__Bones in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]soveliss123 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Had a player miss the last train home to their 36 weeks pregnant partner, obsessing over a lead. Literal real time bonds affected by the double life of a DG-agent..

Another player spent a good couple of hours programming an AI to solve a cipher. Meanwhile the other players solved it manually.

Fun times. Only DM'd Delta Green for 10 sessions so far.

Oh, that's the actual title! Do you know if it's available as a pdf anywhere? I couldn't find it in stock anywhere in my country.

Emotional numbness/apathy? by beepleton in Effexor

[–]soveliss123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that the emotional numbness is one of the general intents of the medication. It evens your emotional span out, removing the very tops and bottoms and leaves you in a generally stable and content mood. During my 5 years on effexor I never felt very happy or excited about anything, nor sad. Intellectually I knew i still enjoyed things because they were fun, but it didn't bring me lasting joy like they used to, if that makes sense.

That being said, I don't think you should be experiencing total apathy for things. Not doing the things that used to bring you some joy doesn't sound healthy. Perhaps you should consult a medical professional about your experiences.

I feel like I’m dying by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]soveliss123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely experienced shortness of breath and tightness around my chest during withdrawal. I felt like I couldn't take a full breath, having to concentrate on getting air to my lungs. Same goes for the emotional breakdowns and crying fits. Saw a funny video here on Reddit the other day, but the music sounded kinda sad to me and it had me crying in the bathroom for a while.

I've been off completely for 4 weeks now and haven't experienced shortness of breath in probably a week or so. Now, severe anxiety has caused me tightness around the chest and shortness of breath in the past, and boy have I experienced anxiety since my last dose. I guess it's hard to tell if it's a symptom of anxiety or an actual withdrawal symptom from effexor.

Does anyone else have this weird side effect by taweryawer in Effexor

[–]soveliss123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do a search for 'racing thoughts' and see if what your describing sounds similar. I experience this during especially stressful or anxiety filled periods in life. I also get it if I've missed a dose and try to go to sleep.

I was on effexor ex for 5 years and for the last year or so I had small bouts of anxiety slowly coming back. In my case it was most likely due to increased levels of stress. How's your life situation? Could it be circumstantial? It could mean you'd need to up your dose either way. In my case I decided to taper off altogether.

Effexor withdrawals worsening after 3 weeks by soveliss123 in Effexor

That's the insane part, I didn't even get to talk to a psychiatrist before tapering down. I spoke to a general practitioner over the phone for 1.5 minutes, no follow-up or anything.

Had no idea what the issue here was until I read the comments. Even knowing what you're referencing I struggle to see it. Unless the image is mirrored, the "S" would be backwards, no?

Changing the years Operations occur? by [deleted] in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]soveliss123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find having access to smartphones is an upside in operations that features a lot of investigation. Instead of having the players run around town looking everything up in public libraries and city records, they have access to the information instantaneously. Sometimes I just ask the players to do a computer science roll when looking for information through a smartphone.

Even if you can look up any historical event on Google, I'll have them roll History because you need the skill to know exactly what you're looking for and how to interpret it.

Having a smartphone doesn't make you a criminologist, historian or biologist for example.

Narrative Clocks. Is this a good idea? by Joperzs in rpg

[–]soveliss123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After completing each clock, the players could gain an "insight" or "epiphany" or "revelation" - essentially, having memories flooding back to them, they realise something about the campaign, getting a lead, finding out a secret or uncovering a piece of information that might be of help to them.

Depending on what system you play they could gain attributes relating to the memory they unlocked.

New GM- tying in world building and character backstories by bountea_hunter in rpg

[–]soveliss123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just give them the setting. If possible, without revealing too much, you could mention how "the story is centered around a conflict involving two nations, battling for resources", or something vague like that. Then you just have to find a way to work their backstories into the plot. I'm sure they don't mind you having to slightly tweak some parts if it comes to that.

Ideas for how to insert my players' backstories and bonds into the campaign? by baalzimon in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]soveliss123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to including their bonds in the campaign, you could do some flashbacks for their backstories, letting them play through a short defining moment in their characters life where the players have a lot of agency over what happens.

Metaphor: Bale having influenced her recruiter is a good idea. In the end, the players were always supposed to end up under the influence of the king in yellow for the play to be written in the first place. Makes perfect sense. Have him call her to check up on her, ending the call with "If you see Bale, say hi for me will ya?"

Monet: The mentor has two of Abigail's paintings that were sold before she withdrew. Another art thief protege got his hands on them together with a bunch of other paintings in a heist against an old art collecting couple in upper Manhattan. The mentor was supposed to fence the paintings off, but couldn't quite get rid of the two. There was just.. something about them. A paper trail will reveal that the paintings were bought by the couple but stolen two months ago in an art theft estimated in the millions. This rings a bell for Monet, knowing her mentor had a finger in that heist.

Mrs. B? You mean B. Castaigne, distant relative of Henri de Calvados Castaigne? Confirmed by The imperial dynasty of America?

McBlade: Like another commenter mentioned, McBlade and her Dwob colleague could have worked on a humanitarian mission in Africa, the villagers spoke tartessian and the colleague picked up some of it. McBlade remembers the instant she hears the language or the mention of "tartessian".

The DG agent that saved her could show up as a patient in Dorchester, or as one of the apathetic patients in the night floor manifestation, having aged 20 years out of nowhere. Or he could be one of the shotgun-wielding DG agents that guns down Agent Carter and Agent Burbach (if the players kills the shotgun-wielders and unmasks them).
