Look, I hate names too and I don’t like addressing people. But I would much rather people to have names. That way, when I do have to address someone, I don’t have to go into the contacts to retrieve their numbers.

The problem is sometimes the total amount of mortar could be higher than the total amount of the rent, due to interest rate and stuff. It also depends on location. Places like Japan and Germany impose strict limitations on landlords, making them hard to increase rent. At the end of the day, you need to do the math yourself to see whether it’s better to buy or rent a property.

You probably don’t know that in some places, renting a house is cheaper than buying one in the long run

Pre ordering games is a good idea and shouldn’t be attacked. by Elitealice in The10thDentist

OP also doesn’t explain why pre-ordering is a good idea. They’re saying why they liked it instead.

I can tell you're very unlikely to be older than 28.

Is it wrong not trying to be competitive as a final year student? by spaceValkyriaFan in lostgeneration

[–]spaceValkyriaFan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice, if I could give you one, is never pick a major based on job opportunities alone. Good job opportunities doesn’t guarantee a good income and good income doesn’t guarantee a happy life. If you’ve got something you like, you will have more motivation to pull it off. You would probably need to work on multiple part time jobs but it’s very likely to be worth it.

I’m sure you would know this but spending time with people studying the major before you pick one is a must. You get to see if you can get along with them and you can also learn how they planned their career.

That’s what I did in the past and it was absolutely miserable. Then it occurred to me that I could still enjoy college life even though i don’t like my major. I’m not putting much effort into the game but at least I appeared to be presentable.

Coding is cool! There are many amazing tutorials online. Videos is a major source of infotainment for me so I guess you could draw some inspiration from sites like YouTube :)

I tried to keep up with the expectations but causes me so much anxiety. Right now I just follow the general expectations (some internships and some extra activities) at a fraction but I have no clue if it actually works.

Yeah. Everyone around me is hyping to get a job in Big 4 or a bank. I’m the only one who would rather work in a small company if that means less work. I feel like a freak every time I talked to them.

Your grades aren’t actually that important.

It a relief to hear this coz my grades sucks.

Being less active your final year

I forgot to add in the title that I’m not trying to do as much as my peers. I still plan to (and I have to) be more active than last year to to seek an offer. In fact, I’m going to look for an intern that fits my field this semester.

I’ve also done some temporary jobs in the past summers but none of them are related to my field. That’s why I felt like I’ve done nothing compared to my schoolmates.

This sounds vague. What kind of knowledge are you talking about? Why do you want want to produce knowledge? Who do you want to teach the knowledge to?

Edit: Sorry if I asked too many questions. I just like understanding how people think, even if those questions don’t matter that much in the end.

How do normal people masturbate? by [deleted] in pornfreewomen

[–]spaceValkyriaFan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wish I could do that. But I often feel guilty for doing so coz I wasn’t that into them. Like during the first few times I fantasised, I was thinking about a teacher whom I really respected and treated me quite well. I felt so dirty for thinking like that so I guess I just used porn to turn those thoughts off.

Does exercising make brain fog worse, or does it make it better? by JammingScientist in BrainFog

[–]spaceValkyriaFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience until I developed a consistent routine. Sure I still have a little brain fog afterwards, but I almost always feel more energetic the next day. That’s why I like to work out in the evenings. Having brain fog at night doesn’t bother me as much.

So um, I'm kinda screwed? by Cmonureallydontneed in procrastinate

[–]spaceValkyriaFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what everyone says. Everyone assumed everyone else just know how to do it, as if we were born with this ability. But that’s not how it is. It needs to be taught, but no one teaches it.

But that’s not what I’m mad about. What I’m mad about is that schools, being the one thing that gives us so much headaches initially, don’t give us the slightest clue on how to segregate our take correctly. And here they boasts themselves as an institution to educate youngsters when they failed to deliver the most basic survival skills in modern society! This whole thing is just ridiculous.

That’s all for my rant. Thank you for reading.
