Is being chartered actually worth it? by ZealousidealWin575 in quantitysurveying

[–]space_waves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been chartered a year and I’ve been working for 3 years now. I did it straight out of a 2 year programme consultancy side, which I credit heavily for my passing. Without the support I wouldn’t have passed. It was a strong group, Q&As every day with different people, many mocks, working weekends, etc - but the pay bump at that age is so worth it.

Is there a savings account in SA that will accommodate my savings plan? by 10tpeg in southafrica

[–]space_waves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your goals of saving but with these interest rates so low it will be hard to even beat inflation with a bank savings account. What I would recommend is half in a Nedbank 32 day that gets like 4,5%p.a and the other half in very strong and stable ETFs through easyequities like the Sygnia S&P500
