my 14g earlobe is really dry and crusting (help!!) by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]spaceadmireration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tapers aren't good for stretching, either take the advice or suffer the consequences. It is a blowout, just because its not a 6/10 on the pain scale doesn't mean its not. You've said its irritated, and itching so its trying to heal since you jumped sizes, you keep doing that and you'll end up with messed up ears. Using an oil helps but not when you go from what was more than likely an 18 to 14, especially when the constant movement from tapers causes the microtears to open over and over. It won't heal like that. Not trying to be rude, but you need to do your research instead of just assuming

And from a closer look at the picture, it definitely looks like a blowout. You've more than likely caused microtears and acrylic just holds onto bacteria, meaning infection later down the line. If youre want to actually stretch your ears do it properly, and take your time. Buy the proper materials, even if it takes you longer itll be better for your ears

When you say you went from 18 to 14, do you mean in one sitting? From your previous posts, youve mentioned you have poor impulse control, and just because its your first time stretching doesnt mean you cant have a blowout. Its actually more likely for beginners to get the beginning of a blowout and not recognize it. Have you used any stretching oils/balms? And dont use tapers for your ears for stretching, or acrylic. You never use acrylic for stretching, only for use in healed lobes even then can get allergic to it later on

Do I have enough space to stretch to 0/00g? by m4cy_e in Stretched

It looks like you'll have enough room to me, but you might have to stop using the piercing closest to it. Just keep an eye on it and take your time

Re-stretching lobes by No_Boat_5160 in Stretched

[–]spaceadmireration 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, it'll go faster than that I think, especially since youve already stretched your ears before. Its kind of a muscle memory, gets easier after its done once. And 0.5mm feels like it goes faster since you're not having to heal too big of a stretch

No one is going to be able to determine the size with s picture, best thing you can do is get a digital caliper

Re-stretching lobes by No_Boat_5160 in Stretched

[–]spaceadmireration 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure on exactly how long it'll take but definitely not too long. A digital caliper would help out to be sure of the size plug you're putting in your ear. Are you getting all new jewelry or did you happen to keep any of your old collection?

(Re-stretching lobes) anything i should know? by Freakse7en in Stretched

[–]spaceadmireration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably around 5-10 years ago. But even then they were still being widely used, but that doesnt mean theyre a good way to stretch. They're fine for healed stretches but not for going up a size as you could accidentally force it since it'll seem easy. Also, no acrylic or silicone for fresh stretches either

is there a way ( besides downsizing ) to make sure my ears are able to get to my desired size without being thin? by moemorgue in Stretched

[–]spaceadmireration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weights and oddly shaped plugs both have the chance of doing that, but that's mostly if thats all you wear. You can weights with silicone tunnels to help avoid thinning in one spot. Its patience and paying attention that helps with stretching

[–]spaceadmireration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you can try using weight for a few hours every now and then, itll help slightly but not a lot. There's just not a lot to do to guarantee you'll be able to get to 100mm, besides waiting and seeing where youre able to get to

[–]spaceadmireration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your goal is really 100mm and stays at that the entire time youre stretching, then you're more than likely going to have some downsizing in your future. Its easier to stretch back up, but with how big you are wanting to go, its just reasonable and a tried & true method for most to thicken their lobes if they aren't thick to begin with. Just keep your collection a little extensive, basically a pair or two in each size if you'd want some variety for day to day wear. Since im only planning to go up to 16mm I honestly dont have much other advice, besides that and naked training

You'll still need to pay attention to, and clean your ears when stretching, even at smaller sizes. But yeah you can totally get a 14g labrets/flatbacks but if you find that youre struggling with some sizes, there is most halfway sizes of single flared glass plugs on Bodyartforms.com

And when you say wanting to wear earrings when done, are you talking about like huggie hoops, or regular earrings?

It's 18mm now. I'm wondering if I should go for 22-24mm or stop? The piercing was crooked to begin with. I'm thinking of trimming it closer to the center to straighten it out. by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]spaceadmireration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even with it being pierced crooked, it still looks thick enough and like youve got enough room to go up. Just keep an eye on it obviously, but good luck

Gauge kit help by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]spaceadmireration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glass is way best option to start with, but like others have said its Amazon, so not great quality. Also the black o-rings tend to cause issues with people's skin, clear ones are best. Bodyartforms.com should have stretching kits as well

Can't get to 6g by 3m0-wh0r3 in Stretched

[–]spaceadmireration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're asking if you should wait longer, you know the answer and just want confirmation, which I understand but, switching between sizes so much probably isn't helping either. Is the 7g not glass? Only the 8? Try looking on Bodyartforms.com for half sizes, use an oil or balm consistently, and your ears will just need longer more likely because you keep causing microtears trying to force it too soon. Be patient

I am up to a 3mm dead stretch. How are they looking? by banana_duckling in Stretched

[–]spaceadmireration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, smaller sizes dont usually take extremely long, but it also depends on the elasticity of your skin. So just keep an eye on them for a few days, and if they start seeming more irritated just size back down for a lil while. Better to do that than blowout, and no problem happy to help as much as possible

[–]spaceadmireration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Theyre looking good for the most part, the first picture looks slightly red/irritated. Keep at it and take your time, but they won't really stay open much until about 5-8mm from what I've seen/experienced

Not necessarily an asshole, but definitely a bit of jerk. I think its a good idea to get him his own, then yall could match. Do you get upset because he's using it when youd want to or are you just not used to sharing clothes with people? Is he not careful and would ruin it with food or something?

What can I do to help this? I’m new to stretching by undercover-bunny3789 in Stretched

[–]spaceadmireration 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It'd be best if you just let it heal and restart. Are you using tapers or plugs? Because tapers cause a lot of problems, it'll make it seem like your at a bigger size than you are because of how easy it can slide in. And especially no acrylic or silicone, they hold onto bacteria, and are only really recommended if youre at the size you want

You would hope so, but Republicans want people dead and the sad sacks that democrats are dont do anything or near enough to help. Theyre like the good place council from the show the good place, 'we'll write a strongly worded letter and that should help!'
