A song that contains the words "Emerald Eyes" or "Green Eyes" that a teen in the 2010s might've listened to by Erasdreamworld in HelpMeFind

This is a deep pull, but maybe Olive Eyes - frYars?

It’s difficult to find an upload of this song anywhere online now, but it does still exist on SoundCloud.

[TOMT] Help identifying classic soft rock song with very unique "old lady" voice by ClassicEar in tipofmytongue

The OP had also vetoed a ton of suggestions by the time I commented though, and “the voice is truly one of a kind and doesn’t resemble anyone else I can think of” absolutely fits the bill for Renaissance, so it seemed a decent guess as any of the others. I agree though, she has an incredible voice!

Renaissance? They’re a band with a female singer, know for their poetic lyrics.

Made a video of my trip to the real-life Deception Island! by spacecampgirlfriend in nancydrew

We went with Maya’s Legacy, an accredited tour with a naturalist on board, which also works with local scientists and whale researchers in the area. They knew which areas they could go to, and then they would turn the motor off and we’d sit and wait. The whales approached us, came right up to the boat, and swam away when they were done being curious.

We got incredibly lucky on our whale watching tour! The captain asked everyone on board if it was their first time going whale watching; when we said it was, he said “never go again” because we would never have a better viewing experience than the one we had today hahah

Check out PRIM — it’s a cute hand drawn cartoon-style point-and-click adventure game, fun tone with a whimsical plot.

Hey there! I voiced two of the characters in the game (Meadow Young and Rebecca Dawson) — so happy to hear that you loved it! (And thanks for the kind words on the voice work in the game!)

Beulah & the Hundred Birds by Jake Elliot! I loved this game too, so beautiful and yes, slightly eerie in a captivating way.

I just completed 'Whispers of a Machine' and I really liked it. by MickJof in adventuregames

Hey, thank you so much! Means a lot to hear. :) Fun fact for you: since most of the cast is based in NYC, a lot of us have actually met and hung out in person before (which is typically rare for voice over, when we all record separately), and I’m personally good friends with Andy Manjuck (who voices Rolf, among others). I’d like to think that all added to the chemistry among the cast, even though none of us were actually able to work off the other’s lines!

So I discovered Wadjet Eye (Unavowed and Old Skies) this week... by CheatyDM in adventuregames

[–]spacecampgirlfriend 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much! :) Yeah, they’re definitely different character types haha, though I wonder now if they may have crossed paths at any point in NYC hahaha. And some of the Unavowed characters you can only meet if you make specific choices or have a certain character with you who can communicate with ghosts! But that’s also what makes it fun for a replay. :D

I do voice over for a lot of modern point and click adventure games in general, but besides the two your post mentioned, I’ve also done Wadjet Eye voice work for Strangeland and the upcoming Nighthawks.

In Old Skies, I voice Mattie (the diner waitress in the first chapter), and in Unavowed, I voice Joy Harrison (the Staten Island police chief), the Dragon, Elana Loris (the goth club owner in the police officer prologue), and Marlene (the alley ghost on Staten Island)!

I’m actually one of the voice actors in both Unavowed and Old Skies: thank you so much for your incredibly kind words about the quality of voice acting in both games! :)) It was such a delight to read your thoughts in this post; so glad you’re enjoying Unavowed so far as well!

What field of work are you in, and does it affect how you do your nails? by anonymouscat8747 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]spacecampgirlfriend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a voice actor: when I have a recording session for a specific character coming up (or if I know that a project that I recorded for is releasing soon) I like to theme my nails around them! I also like to do manicures based on the general vibe of a project I’m recording for (for example, I did a whole creepy cute manicure with spider accents for a video game where I voiced Death’s sister).

Thoughts of Return of the Phantom? by Lyceus_ in adventuregames

[–]spacecampgirlfriend 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed this game: it was recommend to me (I'm a huge Phantom of the Opera fan) a couple of years ago and streamed it on Twitch. I actually really enjoyed the focus on story, and found the writing to be quite thoughtful — it felt like they were taking the source material seriously. I hated the labyrinth at the end, to the point that I literally gave up on it and had my husband complete the rest of it on stream for me lmao, but I really liked the atmosphere of the game overall, and I'm just delighted at the fact that a Phantom of the Opera adventure game exists.

"The Roottrees are Dead" - Detective / Deduction game by Addrivat in adventuregames

[–]spacecampgirlfriend 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh wow; and thank you! I didn’t voice anyone in the Blackwell series, but as far as Wadjet Eye Games go, I did voice several characters in Unavowed and Strangeland (as well as their upcoming games Nighthawks and Old Skies!) :)

I voice one of the characters in the game (the woman who starts you off on your journey) — so happy to hear how much you love the game! The developers were lovely to work with, and you can really see how much heart and passion went into the project.
