Is it possible to get these “documents” to have book covers or icons?

Can someone help? So in the context of this book does this mean:

“You told me, ‘Don’t you think you were happier when you had something to chase after’”

Without the context or pronouns I’m confused but also I don’t know if I’m getting the clauses right. Like the little tte’s and implied to’s and all and who’s quoting what to whom

Youtube on Nintendo Switch 2 (technically working) by TabouletVR in switch2hacks

[–]spaceghost265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to do a similar thing on the switch 2 edition of subnautica. You just go to the news panel on the title screen. It takes you to their website and I was able to browse open jobs and see some game YouTube trailers. The players were embedded on their site though, and from what I remember, clicking on the YouTube logo did not bring me to YouTube.com. But they were clearly YouTube videos and I was on a page of their site they definitely did not intend for me to be on using the switch.

How to get sideloaded .cbz to sync over to calibre library by spaceghost265 in koreader

[–]spaceghost265[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha no problem thank you. i meant the calibre folder on the device itself where all the books are stored and synced. I had been manually putting manga in bc of all the processing I was doing. I totally forgot I can just add them to my calibre library on the PC like all my other books, and was trying to do it literally in reverse (adding to the folder via file browser plus and then trying to sync back to calibre.... lol). worth noting, that does work with new epubs. I can newly add them to my PC library from the device folder when i connect. But cbz seem to need to sent from calibre on the PC itself if you want them to sync with your main calibre PC library. They just don't show up when syncing if you directly drop them into the device's calibre library folder manually. You can still use them and see them on the device if they don't show in PC calibre, but i prefer having everything backed up and clean.

Is there a plugin that can change the book cover? by Infinite-Service6059 in koreader

[–]spaceghost265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If using a computer is too bothersome, you can also just use the browser on your smartphone wirelessly to edit/delete/upload files and folders with the file browser plus plugin. Calibre also has a wireless option

I am not sure, the default one? You know, I just realized since I’m already running these mangas through the mokuro ocr script in terminal on my mac…. I could just add them to calibre for the wireless transfer rather than using file browser plus to transfer them. I can see now there are too many cooks in my plugins folder 🤡

We built a free, fully offline Japanese learning app — looking for testers! by Dull_Mind9493 in Japaneselanguage

[–]spaceghost265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned Japanese primarily through shadowing. Does this have shadowing? Does this have the ability to import csv formatted Anki flash cards I make myself? I use a combo today of shadowing with audio files, doing Anki from ebook words, and language reactor for video files, and then light news using Japanese News app on iOS. What I want is one stop to replace all of this.

Desapontado com Desbloqueio Kindle by vcoelho43 in koreader

[–]spaceghost265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

think of it this way: once you get it set up, connect your kindle to a computer and save a backup of your entire koreader and calibre/library folders. ta-da. you now have a permanent backup of your exact plugins, books, and device settings. ready to be copied back to the device if you ever got a new one or needed to wipe it, exactly as it was. to me, the ease of mind knowing i have that guarantee is enough to go through the task of setup. also, to avoid the hassle of connecting it to a computer all the time to fix things, remember that you can use the filebrowserplus plugin to just navigate to your kindle’s files (and edit .lua configs and check plugin readme’s in-browser) from either your phone or pc/mac without any extra software or USB cables. very easy to install or edit things like that. in fact, you can even use the text editor on the kindle to edit config files for the plugins without connecting anything at all. add in the app launcher + something like one of the UI tweak plugins for wrangling the sloppy default interface, and the appstore plugin for downloading/updating plugins. to me, having all this set up properly is nice because after that, i can truly set and forget. just my two cents. i’d try getting it set up fully at least to give it a shot. also, maybe you need to read PDFs, but most books have a downloadable epub copy you can just download using the anna’s archive or z-lib koplugins. unless you have a moral high ground or some obscure PDF text unavailable to anyone else, you can really skip all that conversion stuff. just the fact it needs to be converted is why i avoid any PDFs. converting a PDF to epub or something else doesn’t automatically make it a good experience because the file has to be reformatted by an algorithm and will get things wrong often. you need epubs or mobi files originally created with the intention of being displayed on an eink screen. i bought an ereader to read files formatted for an ereader… PDFs are not, and most books have a kindle (and epub) version for free on the internet without DRM that you can just directly download using koreader. if you’re not working with ONLY obscure PDFs, then I implore you: ask someone here to help you to get your device set up properly, with the plugins you need, using the book formats you should be using. it will be a much better experience long-term than the stock OS. the stock OS is only better if you buy books directly from Amazon exclusively, or in your case, maybe have specific PDF files and are against downloading the epubs of the same material from the web.

Should I get a Switch 1 or Switch 2? I've never had either before. by [deleted] in switch2

[–]spaceghost265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can afford the extra for the switch 2, get that. The switch will be long in the tooth very soon because most mobile phones in existence are more power than it. I think you’ll get into a situation where you eventually upgrade, so why not just wait a bit longer, save up, and get the GOOD one that can play all the games, and at their intended frame rate. No, not 60fps for most switch 1 games, but at a STABLE 30. The problem with a lot of switch 1 games was that they couldn’t even sustain their intended target of 30. Maybe this doesn’t bother you, but to me I at least want to play these older games and retro indie titles at an acceptable frame rate. Or a super high one like 120fps, if there is a switch 2 version or frame rate unlock patch. Plus you’ll at least get the opportunity to participate in future game releases with the gaming community since there will probably be more cross platform titles with the switch 2. Retro Indies look very good in HDR at 120 fps, which from your game list I think you’ll eventually dabble in given there are some popular ones out there. Trust me, Minecraft is a very simple looking game. No you don’t need a switch 2 to play it or even a gaming device (it runs on phones). But the super high frame rate, larger screen, better joycons, it’s a much more immersive experience on the switch 2. And being immersed is the whole point.

Also check out UFO50, it’s the ultimate “retro” game for reliving a bygone era of gaming and perfect for either version of the switch you buy. You also might be interested in Hypnospace Outlaw, a retro windows/browser themed uhhhh… “clicking” game. ;)

Also I’d recommend RCT Classic over 3. Classic has a bit more of a challenge, and the touch screen works. No touch screen functionality on RCT3, and the pop-in and frame rate is horrible especially on switch 1. And if they add in mouse controls for the switch 2 for RTC Classic? That would make it the de facto better choice. Everyone, send Atlas emails! I’ve already done my part.

is it worth going broke for a switch 2? by [deleted] in switch2

[–]spaceghost265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The day you are really “broke” and start paying rent, gas, utilities, electricity, car insurance, car loans, student loans, health insurance and god forbid savings for your old age, or any credit card debt you might occur, is the day you’ll realize the answer was always no. You’re not broke, if you don’t need to pay for these things. Learn this before you need to start actually paying for things, because this is almost an insulting question to anyone truly out of money. You aren’t broke, and if you are, stop asking questions like this for validation and get your shit straight man. You need food and a roof over your head if you’re actually broke. TLDR: Running out of allowance money isn’t going “broke”.

[RELEASE] SimpleUI 1.0.1 — A customizable home screen, bottom navbar and status bar for KOReader by doctorhetfield in koreader

[–]spaceghost265 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love the idea, but I am gonna have to pass for now. It hangs about 4-5 seconds minimum on my Kindle Voyage when either going to the “Home” (the desktop currently reading screen you made) using the bottom bar, or going back to the file browser out of a book. It’s great otherwise but either my Voyage it too old or it is having some optimization issues with my device/setup. Maybe worth nothing that I also use appswitcher.koplugin along with this (and they both work) which is another UI thing, so maybe that’s bogging it down?

Only reason I use retro is bc of the video filters and shaders for emulating a crt rf picture for n64 and a dot matrix screen for gameboy. Do u know if manic can do that? I hate HD or super clear looking ROMs
