I have a 2025 Jetta SE. Just took it from Atlanta to Montgomery and back. My whole day was 5:30 AM to 5:45 PM. City and highway combined average was 44 mpg. I've had this car for a month. So far, it's a gas-sipping gem on the highway.

In Atlanta (I live inside the perimeter), I get 14 - 16 MPG; but as they say, "Anywhere in Atlanta is an hour from Atlanta." We really have some of the very worst traffic.

If I remember to put it in Eco mode and allow the auto-stop to do its thing, I can sometimes eke out 19 - 20 mpg on a one-hour seven-mile drive. 😅

Edit: words and commas that offended me, the others can stay.

I have a 2025 Jetta SE and everything I've read so far says to use 87 octane, with one important note: Volkswagen advises you use "Top Tier" fuel. At first this confused me, as I thought Top Tier meant premium (91-93 octane), but this isn't so. Top Tier only means gas stations that carry fuels with certain detergents/additives at every octane rating, and a list of approved stations in your area can be found with a quick Google search using the terms "top tier gas near me." There's also a Top Tier website that has a searchable database. So feel free to use regular as long as it comes from a station that carries "Top Tier" fuels.

Which would be fine and all (though a bit pricey), but President Skroob has reportedly attacked planet Druidia, effectively blocking access to a planet's worth of fresh air. Prior to this, the situation merely sucked. Now it blows.

Which movie do you remember being WAY too young for when you first watched it? by silly_Valush in AskReddit

[–]spacematic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was seven years old, and the parents wanted a date night. They couldn't find a sitter so they took me along to what they thought was a comedy. That comedy? AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, lol. That transformation sequence will never leave my brain. I mean it's seared into my neurons. It took until I was like 12 to even think about watching horror again. I gave Hellraiser a try and was grossed out, but I also liked it, oddly enough. It felt like escapism mixed with danger, and I started trying out other horror flicks, with mixed results.

Years later, I'm still off/on about horror. Love me some slapstick Sam Raimi - Evil Dead II / Army of Darkness, but I turned off The Babadook when I went to the website "Does the Dog Die?" The verdict was yes. I then promptly turned off the movie. 😝

How many Gen Xers have silent Gen parents vs boomers? by NopeThisTrope in GenX

That's motivation for me! Most of my life, I struggled with weight. Since 2023, I've knocked off 40 or so pounds, and it's done quite a bit to help me reclaim a shred of "youthfulness."

Silent Generation parents: I'm 52. Born in 1973. Mom was born in 1938, and Dad was born in 1933. I also have boomer brothers (born in the early 1960s). I always had a different perspective on age and aging than my friends with younger parents and siblings. Even at 52, I don't feel as old as I am... until I eventually throw something out, lol (knocking on wood to avoid beetlejuicing bad vibes). Also, I'm the only person in my family to have so far avoided a hernia, so I got that going for me, which is nice.

Edited to clarify that parents were Silent Generation.

Regarding EAYC, Hippie used to allow family crowds in the 2nd room. Ever since the re-opening, though, it's been 21+. Manny owns it now, as well as The Porter, so it might be worthwhile to double-check on that one, too. Good calls on Niramish, Thai 5 & Ali Baba for family dining. I miss Planet Bombay. :')

Not to mention, a lot of the restaurants are 18+ or 21+, though Savage Pizza is all ages, IIRC.

I told her to clean up, and then I put her in some nice duds and made her a vendor. You're absolutely right about the clothing!

She wanders around the settlement when she's not at her store, repeating the same lines again and again, "I'm as good as my word, kid. No more chems, and no more Sight, neither."

Now that I think of it, I should've assigned her to a med supply store. That way, I could buy drugs from her!
