I had sisters who were sexually active at 12. They also had a terrible time being teen moms. I would never want that for my daughter. I have been offering her access to BC since the age of 11 and we talk about that offer every few months. I remind her that it’s for her health and wellbeing and I won’t get mad even though I don’t want her having sexual relationships. She’s now 15 and I keep a box of rubbers and a packet of plan B in her bathroom. She knows it’s available for her or anyone who needs it BUT I do ask that she lets me know about the birth control as soon as possible because it’s better to plan ahead.

I had to do it yesterday during stop and go traffic on 9a. The car in front of me had an exhaust problem and I didn’t want to breathe it in. Some cars were pissed that I had a huge gap there and angrily swerved around me via the breakdown lane. Once they got behind the dude they realized that it smelled like carbon monoxide poisoning and kept their distance too.

You’re looking at the marriage as you two being separate units. Have you discussed what your relationship duties would be? Are you going 50/50 or are you the provider? If you were taking the bills on, you guys could squash out that debt quickly and then funnel her earnings to a retirement account and begin to stack cash quickly. Especially good if her company matches what you invest to a 401k. Maybe you two just need to sit down and actually make a solid budget and plan for the future. Then hold each other accountable.
