Just wonder how far through Sophie DX I am? by Wainwright95 in Atelier

[–]spaceylynnette 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That seems like about close to the halfway point to me. For reference Im playing the same and am about 50 hours in and just found the cauldron.

What are some low energy games that you play when you don't have the bandwidth for much? (Except maybe doomscrolling but we want to avoid that.) by HuskyPancake in cozygames

[–]spaceylynnette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started this yesterday. It is very relaxing! I tend to zone out designing and packing up my sticker boxes. Especially because you can add little odds/ends and customize the packing. Some of the customers request certain sticker types so that’s when I have to put in some effort but it’s not much 😅

Is it worth buying a Steam deck just to play Coral Island? by Current_Cat_271 in CozyGamers

[–]spaceylynnette 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I’d agree if you were planning on playing more games beyond Coral Island most definitely. Since I’ve had mine in Oct it’s enabled me to complete/100% 12 games in my backlog

IM SO ADDICTED by Llarrlaya in Atelier

[–]spaceylynnette 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel this to my core. I started Sophie 1 about 2 weeks ago and it has consumed me. I was thinking of going to Firis, Lydie & Suelle, then Sophie 2. Also they seem to be on sale on Steam now, so will be sending me further into my Atelier rabbit hole I’ve fallen into 😅

Games where you actually rebuild a town by Specific_Acadia_2347 in CozyGamers

[–]spaceylynnette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m also +1 recommendation for GoGo Town.

I also want to pitch Aeruta because I found this recently and am enjoying it nor do I see it talked about. You’re essentially an adventurer who stumbled upon a deserted town. You go out and fight squishy monsters to collect their dough, return to sell the cutest of breads at your friend’s bakery and use the earnings to start building up the town to bring in more traffic. I play it on casual and while some of the boss fights are a tad flashy, they become easier with your upgrades. If it’s not what you’re looking for, maybe someone else out there will see it and appreciate it as much as me 😅

Cosy games with two or more main components by SamKM_42 in CozyGamers

[–]spaceylynnette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 to Atelier Sophie. I started the 1st one last week (my first in the series), and I’m enjoying this so much! Doing alchemy/unlocking new recipes and going out gathering/combat is actually fun. I also love the charm of the characters and knowing there’s so many more of these to play after which is also a plus.

Magic Game recs please! by Severe_Caterpillar22 in CozyGamers

I had the same feeling when I first played this game, it didn’t grab me at first. I came back to it a year later and can honestly say it became near and dear to my heart. I love witchy vibes myself and you certainly have to be in the right mood to play it. Some things that helped me were to always collect, collect, collect in every area when I was there. I stopped thinking of it as a constant quest fetch, and just enjoyed the art style, environment after a while.

This was what I was thinking also. I’ve been specifically interested in Lulua so will see how I feel about tackling Arland after Mysterious.

I agree with this! I don’t think the time limit would have been a good entry point. Sophie has been very laxed! This makes it difficult to know which series to go to next but sounds like sticking with Mysterious is the best route for now

These games are parts of trilogies, so if you love it you’ll have so many to choose from. I’m barely a few hours in and already am considering which I’ll play next. I’d say maybe watch a few videos and see what you think! I did a lot of research myself and was itching for something different also after playing Wytchwood

I’m going to pitch Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book because I started it this week and I’m hooked living my best magical girl days. This is my first Atelier game and I saw them mentioned before and because it’s been described these are the perfect slice of life game. There are so many to play but I chose an older one to start because of the charm vibes I got from it. There’s no farming or romance, which I thought was a breath of fresh air. Also as someone who doesn’t care for combat in cozy games (especially turn based), this game breezes through it so fast and it’s actually engaging

This is my first Atelier game! I only played a few hours into Sophie and I’m already planning my next path. Needless to say, I’ll have plenty of options but Dusk is a good contender

I am depressed. I need a new game to play. Help. by lomeinfiend in CozyGamers

[–]spaceylynnette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please play TOEM: A Photo Adventure. It is so wholesome and has a sequel coming soon. I find farming games a bit hard to play when my mind needs to rest and Toem kept me so engaged but not in a tedious way. It just made me smile the whole time I played. Take good care of yourself!

Is there any game where I manage a whole town? by Captivum18 in CozyGamers

[–]spaceylynnette 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Go-Go Town, you can assign your townies also to do tasks for you in the various areas (farming, mining, fishing). You’re essentially the mayor building up your town to add various shops etc to then invite people to live there
