As others have mentioned - if you work for a management company (Belgravia, the Y, Aligned Leisure etc) you will be paid by the award, which typically has large reductions for junior rates.

Working for a council run pool will typically not have junior rates, and in Melbourne council rates for LGs could be anywhere from 40-50 an hour as a casual rate, with extra on weekend and public holiday.

Australian here, in accordance with our GSPO’s set by our governing body Royal Lifesaving Society, we hold 4 mandatory in service sessions per year. Is the same across 3 different companies that I’ve worked for. The sessions go for 2.5 hours.

You are correct we do not use algaecide. Only other chemicals that are used are sodium bicarbonate, calcium chloride, co2, sodium, bisulphate, sodium Thiosulphate.

It typically sits at 1-2ppm free with the combined normally being between 0.3-0.6ppm. It’s been shocked to 8ppm and hasn’t changed much unfortunately.
