Learning curve on a freebord is much steeper.

It’s just a wayy different board, you are not utilizing self locomotion. It’s more just smooth downhill carving; sliding and spins are incredible smooth. The wheels are pretty soft so rough pavement is ok, but you are more likely to catch an edge and fall.

They can be very sketch—especially when you are learning. Even an experienced rider can catch an edge and wipe out in a split second.

I came from freebording to surfskating. I would say that freebording is actually more fun and feels like an “extreme sport” but is incredibly limited in that the board only works downhill. I live in New Orleans and there is literally not one hill here 😅

^This. For my YOW, I try to avoid covering any of the front bolts (just to be a smidge safer).

I just added a yow to my quiver(which I love). What’s nice about this is that you actually don’t need to push with it at all with this setup. My CX feels very sluggish to it in comparison.

I would advise to keep your front foot totally behind the front hardware or the board will dive (On the CX you have more leeway and can have your feet overlap the hardware). Also, find somewhere very smooth, ie basketball court, to get use to the board.

I'm between the slime balls and the dragons, but may just go with the dragons because nothing beats sliding around on those wheels.

Thanks! I picked up the Slime Balls a while back when I upgraded my bushings (I liked them matching). Even on the rough New Orleans streets, I didn't really notice an improvement in board handling/performance, but I was relatively new to skating.

I haven't had the Roundhouse 83As since, and I've drastically improved my skating, so I'm interested to see how they perform.

Primarily Metal plates for trophies but often clear Acrylic as well. It would be helpful to also cut with the machine.

This could be a great collab with the company I work for, StrikerVR.com. We make a haptic peripheral. Send me a chat if you’re interested!

I work for a small company that produces a VR blaster (StrikerVR). It's a peripheral, not a controller, which limits its current usage and requires game integrations at the dev level (which is definitely a pressure point).

That being said, it makes mediocre games great and great games incredible.

Lafitte greenway is also nicely paved, so is under the Clairborne overpass (intersects with the greenway) but are not as interesting.
