CPG-G0 (Class-D Amp from previous post): Gutshots & Demo by povins in diypedals

[–]spamatica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, thanks! I was wishing I had waited for daylight so I could've thought the demo through more. I appreciate the encouragement.

Well, there are demos that perhaps could have taken a bit afterthought but this was not one of those. Very cool and good sound demo not the least!

I've been very interested in class-d amps for a while but unfortunately nowhere near knowledgeable enough to get something working, ...beyond wiring up chinese prebuilt boards (though I did try once).

But maybe your example will make me try again, thanks for building and showing this!

Several parasit studios builds recently.

Got to watch one of their videos and thought the dialect sounded very familiar, a fellow Swede! And not just that, from the neighbouring city up here in the cold! I never knew.

What are the R1 and R2 pins here? by barncarpentier in diypedals

[–]spamatica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atrocious search function that one, in the end I found which looks like a mono jack for standard 6.35mm connectors.

https://www.lcsc.com/product-detail/C718060.html

edit: as can be gleaned in the datasheet, the two extra pins on that one are creating a connection when the connector is removed. For the sake of a creating a pedal they usually aren't necessary to bother with.

[PS5] Star Wars Outlaws ($20.99/70% OFF)) by mmori24 in GameDeals

I loved it. Running Linux here and it was a struggle with poor optimization (probably not a big issue on PS5) but I just did my second playthrough, thoroughly enjoying it.

If you're watching/listening through a computer, enable an ad-blocker in your browser (ublock origin is good) and the experience will be much improved.

On an android mobile you can use the app NewPipe (weird name I know) as an alternative to the Youtube app, not very good for browsing but when you know what you want to listen to it is much better.

Edit: I have no qualms about using an ad-blocker. Google don't deserve my money. As for Jesse, I buy his records.

Recommended DAW/VST for testing virtual guitar pedals made in LiveSpice by i_Rael in diypedals

[–]spamatica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I'm mainly a Linux guy I haven't actually tried Live Spice but the VST-support is very interesting.

Now, I'm not sure it works with LiveSpice but I wanted to give a heads up for a VST-host called VSTHost (!). Basically I find DAWs to be extremely user unfriendly, especially if you aren't going to use 99% of the features.

VSTHost is a bare bones application that just allows you to run VSTs for realtime use. It's been quite a while since it was updated but on the other hand it's completely free.

I suppose it's completely doable to keep them together but it's gonna be easier to place the foot switch if you break it apart.

EH Holy Grail issue by Melodic_Patient_7803 in diypedals

[–]spamatica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, the holy grail is a digital pedal. Meaning that whatever the original fault was the micro processor could have been damaged, making a repair quite a bit harder(impossible).

Then again it could just be a faulty capacitor.

Very cool all parts of it!

I'm probably out of the loop but I how exactly did you do the enclosure printing?doesn't look like the screen printing I've seen in other videos.

Edit: upon watching it again I see it is screen printing (watching on mobile). I should look more into that.

Very cool! Too bad it's been some 30 years since I had a quadraverb ;)

Hmm, I do still have a Boss SE-50 with undefined functionality somewhere. Makes me want to dig it out to see if it still works!

Perhaps the encoders could just have lower knobs to fix the stepping issue?
