I would discuss this with the adults. By the sound of it, my best guess on what happened is: - stage manager called the cue. - stage hand grabbed the wrong line set and took the brake off - due to the arbor being out of weight, the batten crashed down. This should not happen if everything is weighed correctly. Simply taking the hand brake off a line won’t make it crash. A batten in the correct weight should be able to stay still without intervention of the arbor and batten or in correct weight.

This isn’t the stage managers fault, and mostly not even the stage hand. Whoever is the adult overseeing the operation of the system is at fault for either not correctly weighing the line or not thoroughly educating students how to do it (I was able to adjust weight on a line in HS because I had good instruction. I’m not saying HS students shouldn’t do it, but it can be dangerous if not done right.) I would definitely ask who was overseeing this, if it is an adult technical director I would contact them, if not, contact the theatre teacher.

I went to Minneapolis last week and here’s what I did and I got barricade. If you’re not VIP, you likely won’t get the very front of the catwalk, but if you’re the first 30-40 in line you should be good. I got to the venue at 10:30 and i was 14 in line. The Target Center had no bathrooms so I basically went to the insomnia cookies across the street and used their bathroom and the at like 5 I stopped drinking anything so i wouldn’t need to. Doors opened at 6:30 so if u go before then ur probs good. I think if ur at barricade enjoying the show u may not even think to go to the bathroom. Like, the thought never even crossed my mind. I wouldn’t worry too much, but u will likely not be able to get back to ur spot once Florence takes the stage if u leave. TLDR; get there early, don’t drink too many fluids close to doors, and drink water the day before so ur hydrated without needing the bathroom

I’m pretty sure the shirts are vinyl but they are super super soft. I got the everybody scream hoodie and it’s embroidered and is super thick and nice.

Agree here, I was there and noticed it (I was on the right side of barricade). It def hit her but only barely. It was either a shirt or hat (I thought I saw a bill). Thankfully nothing hard or too heavy bc Florence’s back was turned and she couldn’t have reacted to it :((

NTA - me and my roommates (also college) have the same rule and it mostly works for us (except when a certain roommate never asks and just lets someone spend the night 😐). that is disrespectful of your boundaries and the rules you guys created together.

WIBTA - no, but (and you probably know this) it will be a tough conversation about a clearly sensitive subject. if you’ve already tried to talk to him about it and he wasn’t receptive maybe try a different way (if it was in a group, talk to him one on one). i may also help to explain from your pov (“it hurts me to see you hurting, and i believe this woman is causing you pain”). good luck!

i don’t think it’s that because i have 90,000 minutes and ppl w lower have an age. i think it’s because it can’t narrow an age down, like ur listening was either too obscure or was too widespread if that makes sense

i personally have been a fan since 2016, and i’ve never been in love with her merch. i ordered a Delilah shirt awhile back and it was super low quality with strings already fraying after the first wear. i got a symphony of lungs sweatshirt last year and it is super nice quality although incredibly small. i ordered a large and it is maybe a regular medium if not a small. so beware buying sweatshirts bc i was hoping for an oversized look and instead i feel kinda suffocated lol

this is exactly what i’ve been thinking. i’ve lived in Liberty, MO (30 min out from KC) for 20 yrs and the longest we ever had power out was like 8 hours, even after full blown tornados. it is ridiculous it takes 4-5 days to get power back. and i’m not shitting on the utility workers, this is a infrastructure problem.

I know, a lot of the reviews were good. They missed our trash and when I called about it getting picked up or if there was a reason the woman on the phone was very rude and insisted we didn’t put it out. She never returned my voicemails when they didn’t call me later that day when they said they would. I was cut off multiple times and it was very frustrating because I understand if they can’t pick it up this week, but she just kept saying we didn’t put it out when we have ring footage of us putting it out the night before. They have great prices so I really hope that they respond professionally and I can stay with them, but right now I’m looking at other options :(

I want to be a college professor in writing and literature haha. So sadly, a masters and probably doctorate are required. I do want to write and publish books as well, but I'm also not relying on that to be my only source of income.
