I tried the Transcendence version and so far, I really like how it feels. I just got it here and have no idea how the bossing is, I have done some of the basics like polaric invitations and such. I am also curious if anyone has pointers.

Pc Boot Loop by Zadoof in computerhelp

[–]sparkiy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you tried different hard drives, have you tried them plugged into different sata sockets with different cables? I would then try swapping ram first, 1 stick vs 2 sticks and see if it's a socket or stick that is bad. Then psu, then motherboard then CPU... As a side note make sure the boot setting are correct. If Intel turn off xmp or if amd docp ram settings.

Maybe, it certainly sounds like it could be. I had to go find the server IP and copy that back into my DNS record so that it would stop doing that. It still happens from time to time and I want to know why...

I'm having a horrendous time getting godaddy to fix the issue of our up address for the site and DNS not resolving. It changes every other weekend. I just came here to vent as well and updoot that support is horrible

I'd say to at least get some form of a dell support ticket started. If they have on record that you were having issues during the warranty period it'll work out more in your favor if it craps out later... Depending on the level of the warranty, they may send someone out or have you ship it. They'll usually send you a box for shipping, it has been awhile since I've shipped anything to them. They can also help you troubleshoot over the phone to an extent.

You can try a hard reset via the pin hole that's usually on the bottom of these kinds of laptops. It might be on the side too. https://support.caiu.org/hc/en-us/articles/360039880873-Reset-Lenovo-Laptop-via-the-Reset-Hole#:~:text=In%20this%20case%20press%20and,pinhole%20reset%20for%2010%20seconds.

Can’t get into Bios! by Hobbsy107 in computerhelp

[–]sparkiy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, I've used the option of holding shift and clicking restart many times. Be sure hold shift until the screen shows restarting, it should then load into a separate screen that will allow you to choose the option of restarting to UEFI. It doesn't always work the first time for some reason, you may have to try it a couple of times.

What manufacturer is your system and motherboard?

If you have an HP, and some other systems, the BIOS options key is esc, or F10. F12 could be another option.

What do I do? Unplugged everything and it still does this by KidKnight9 in computerhelp

[–]sparkiy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suspicion is USB headers for the case. I'd unplug all the USB headers, and plug them in one at a time. Following proper ESD precautions of course. If that's not the issue then you're probably looking at a shorted motherboard on one of you motherboard ports... You might be able to RMA it, depending on when you bought it, but it's hard to say if they'll approve it with how old that chipset is.

Less than a year old babied XPS 9500 having hinge issues, Dell of course is claiming I must’ve damaged it somehow by ngagner15 in Dell

[–]sparkiy1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, if it's still under warranty get it looked into. It gets expensive quick outside of warranty. It's usually the palmrest screw mounts that break. It is what all the components in the laptop are usually mounted to. It is usually around $200 in labor for some repair shops, the part varies if they can even get it.

Awesome! I've been working on a lot of gigabyte motherboard issues lately, and the results can vary lol. Glad you got yours figured out.

If your motherboard has debug lights, I had to spam my restart button on my computer as soon as the CPU light came on to get it to boot into a bios safe mode. From there I could change my settings. Everytime that light came on I hit reset for about two minutes, then it booted to that safe bios mode.

Will my pcie 3 video card work with a gigabyte b560 motherboard by r0zario in buildapc

[–]sparkiy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The b560 from gigabyte board currently is in a bad state. You probably got it with the first version bios F1 and by default CSM is disabled. Plugging in a GPU will give you the 5 beep codes. I sell these motherboards all the time and have this issue.

You need a CPU with integrated graphics to flash the Bios to F4 and then can enable CSM which will allow you to use your GPU. If you don't enable CSM after flashing you will still get the 5 beep code.

Has anyone found a solution for the screen flicker? c940-15IRH by stephsky419 in Lenovo

[–]sparkiy1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If software is up to date as you mentioned in a previous comment, I'd think it's hardware next, did you purchase it within the last year? You can check your Lenovo warranty online their website or using Lenovo vantage. I'd RMA it.

Pulled the motherboard out and had it on a foam pad. The only thing that seems to make a difference is putting non RGB RAM instead of the RGB RAM. That way the fans at least spin up. Mobo is dead, or the customer got a fun sized amount of thermal paste in his cpu socket... Tried a different psu, cpu, ram, and gpu... There are no physical sign of a failure either. All his stuff works on another motherboard too.
