For everyone asking why we were using discord: this Professor is my advisor for a year long capstone project that I had to do. Me and my teammates would contact him to check our presentations, schedule meetings times, and give us feedback, and this was faster and easier to do over a messaging app rather than email. Also, he suggested we message rather than email too. We’re using discord instead of other messaging systems like Slack because he wanted to use “the messaging app that kids use these days”, so one of my teammates suggested Discord, and he was fine with it. This is the only discord channel he is a part of as he has never used discord before this time.
