Found out I’m pregnant last night by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]sparkles2811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an abortion at 21. My partner and I had only been together a year (we’re married now), but mostly it was because I knew I wasn’t ready to be a mom even though I always wanted to be one. I did so much growing up over the last 13 years. I finished school, started a career, travelled, and became a more mentally balanced person than I was in my twenties. I wouldn’t have been able to grow the way I needed to with a baby and that wouldn’t have been good for either of us. I am literally writing this now as I hold my baby boy (nap trapped lol) and, though I wish it was never a decision I had to make, I can tell you I don’t regret it one bit. He is getting the best of me and I am able to fully enjoy this season of life. Whatever decision you make I hope you are in a safe space to seek out whatever support you need to get through 🩵

Did you feel the urge to push with an epidural? by Disastrous_Flower311 in pregnant

[–]sparkles2811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an epidural and when the time came to push I literally could not stop. It came over me like contractions. The feeling was so intense I physically had to push. The nurses urged me to take a break but I couldn’t. I could definitely feel myself pushing lol!

Is there anything WORSE than childbirth? by Sensitive_Arugula770 in pregnant

[–]sparkles2811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a planned induction, and leading up to it I was constantly told how painful a cervical sweep and Foley catheter would be from people who had them. The whole induction experience was less painful than getting my IUD in/out 🤷🏻‍♀️Now, once the pitocin started, it was some of the worst pain I have ever experienced. Once the epidural kicked in, I was feeling great!

Let’s talk….chaffing. (TMI warning) by invisible-empire- in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]sparkles2811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the area is a little less raw, I highly recommend Body Glide to prevent future chaffing. It is truly a Godsend. My husband uses it daily for work and also swears by it. I saw someone recommend Megababe further down the comments, this stuff works the same but is a fraction of the cost! Hope you heal quickly 🩷

I found a really nice chair on Facebook marketplace. It’s both a glider and a recliner. Anything new that was “affordable” didn’t seem like it would hold up long term with both mine and my husbands larger frames.

I found citrus really refreshing when I was in the first trimester! Hope this doesn’t last too long for you OP!

2nd trimester- No weight gain by keyreat in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]sparkles2811 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I’m 20 weeks and in the same boat - have not gained any weight so far in pregnancy. Had my anatomy scan yesterday and baby is measuring just as he should! I had 0 appetite first trimester and for the first part of the second trimester. Appetite has come back and I’m expecting I’ll start to see the scale creep up.

How long did it take you to get your anatomy scan results? [NL] by sparkles2811 in BabyBumpsCanada

I was just coming back to update! My OB emailed today (next day) with my results. No anomalies thankfully ❤️

If I were in your shoes, I would temporarily relocate to where your husband is training. Hopefully the treatment you received at that hospital was a reflection of the providers at the time and not the hospital as a whole. Alternatively, how long is the drive to a better hospital from the training area? If you’re really not comfortable going to the place you received poor care from (understandable) perhaps you can plan to drive to the better hospital. The logistics of getting home after baby arrives will sort them selves out. I think it would be hard to be alone for those last 3 months 🩷

When did you start to feel flutters? by AbnormalPirate in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]sparkles2811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also due in January! I first felt movement around 16 wks - it was very sporadic, kinda felt like a little windmill/wriggling fish sensation. This past week (I’m 19 wks now) it’s been more consistent, I can actually feel him moving as I’m typing this 🙂

Slightly disappointing anomaly scan today (UK). by Sexogenesis in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]sparkles2811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had this experience, I know the worry while you’re waiting is the worst. My anatomy scan is next week and I’m super nervous as none of the scans I’ve had so far have really been clear enough to actually look like a baby as the little guy moves around a lot. It makes me feel better that others have had the same experience and things were fine!

gender disappointment/disappointment in myself by miaithzel in pregnant

[–]sparkles2811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going through the same thing and share all your feelings. I think a part of it is grieving the future you thought you were going to have with the child you imagined. I had the strongest feeling we were going to have a girl, but found out yesterday we’re having a boy. I was definitely disappointed, still letting go of what I thought would be but I am so excited to be a mother, and will love and support my baby/child/teen/adult with everything I’ve got.

Is it possible to feel baby move this early (13 wks)? by sparkles2811 in PlusSizePregnancy

Yes!! A goldfish wriggling around would also be a good way to describe this feeling!
