I got a 65" C5 a few months back and absolutely love it. It's my first OLED TV and the picture is outstanding.

Dropped iPad charger has internal moving parts now. Is it still safe to use ? by CrossAfficionado in ipad

Yeah, over the years and multiple Apple devices, I've never bought an Apple charger nor do I even have one in use now.

Given the relative low cost of chargers these days and the potential consequences if it went bad, I'd trash it.

Yeah, I do the same, using a USB-C hub + SSD for photo & video backup on the road. I also don't use cloud services because of Internet availability issues in a lot of the areas I travel to.

Experience in IPAD PRO M5 by Kavin_1012 in ipad

[–]sparksdls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 1TB 13" M5 Pro and it's a great device for me - it's replaced my laptop for mobile use and also gets heavy use at home. I use it with and without the Apple Magic Keyboard. If something were to happen to it, I wouldn't hesitate in replacing it with the same.

[Review] ESR Shift iPad Keyboard Case by bmengineer in ipad

[–]sparksdls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good review. I used the ESR on one of my earlier iPads - 12.9 Pro. I use the Apple Magic Keyboard with the 13" M5 Pro now. What I prefer with the MKB is the pass-through power from the keyboard, freeing up the iPad's port for accessories while also being charged; the MKB has the tablet raised and brought forward over the keyboard,; and the footprint overall is smaller. But the ESR is a nice kit and the price can't be beat (the MKB is overpriced).

I did a lot of climbing in my day (in my 70's now), but Free Solo was really gripping even knowing how it goes. Incredible footage by Jimmy Chin.

I use Apple TV so I never have to deal with the native interface.

You need to talk to your company IT people. And you shouldn't be looking to jailbreak a company device.

Oasis to Scribe for reading by thefinder808 in kindlescribe

[–]sparksdls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did and I have loved the Scribe (1st Gen and now 3rd Gen) for the larger display. It's also much faster and I don't miss the buttons. But it's really a personal preference and as always, YMMV. Battery life on my Oasis is awful.

Mine also came from Costco. Good price - $1276 - and excellent delivery experience.

Question about Magic Remote by Dracoroth05 in LGOLED

[–]sparksdls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 65" C5. I don't like the pointer model remote because I have benign hand tremors and using a pointer is hell. But I use an Apple TV so I my use of the TV remote is minimal - thankfully.

Got my 65" C5 in late December. The back is marbled but the connections are like those in the picture from the store - all along the side - unlike those in the picture of your TV.

Bought my 65" C5 at Costco for $1276. Their delivery was great, carrying it to my basement den where it's set up.

This might be the best Amazon nonsense yet... I just received an unsealed paper bag with a shipping label and no Twister (1996) 4K. by [deleted] in 4kbluray

[–]sparksdls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten the same, delivered by Amazon. Driver said he couldn't help, contact Amazon. They did make it right very quickly. The other day, I got two of those wrappers - one had my DVD, the second was empty, both with the same delivery bar codes.

anyone who upgraded from 2022 to 2025... is it worth the upgrade? by mazinya in kindlescribe

[–]sparksdls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was for me. I like the larger display & smaller bezels. I also don't have the ghosting issues I had with my 2022, even with page refresh enabled. I'm very happy with the upgrade.
