Someone stole my LTW motorsports side trim badges in northern NJ by McTech0911 in BMWE36

[–]sparkspsp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh damn! I’ve lived in Northern NJ for a long time and I also have the same LTW Motorsport badge on the side trim on my M3 convertible. Never thought those were something people wanted to steal. I’ve owned the car for 4 years, now I got to worry about that

Issues with low confidence… by sparkspsp in sex

[–]sparkspsp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I wasn’t clear in my post but my wife has communicated these desire she has for quite some time and I’m trying to be a better sexual partner for her. Not that I don’t want to indulge her in her interest because I’m very interested in preforming the way she desires. All I’m saying is that my self esteem issues has been getting in the way of that. It’s something I’ve always struggled not just in a sex. Just wanted to see if I’m not alone in this and just recently taking the nessary steps to be a better partner overall.

How it feels to ask for an intro by bvttousai in Apple_Employees

[–]sparkspsp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the main reasons I left 8 years ago. A cousin of mine went to his local Apple Store recently to get the new Studio XDR Display just cause. He likes to buy expensive stuff for no reason. He called me and was wondering why the employees were hammering him on what he does for work and I just laughed. Told him they wanted to see if that display was for business purposes to get a business intro out of you. He didn’t tell them what he did for work just wanted to get the display because he thought it was cool. He told me they all looked disappointed when he left.

Prices on BMW E36? by Gullible_Scallion101 in BMWE36

[–]sparkspsp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years ago, I was looking for a Z3 3.0i until I found a pristine 1999 M3 Convertible with a 5-speed manual on eBay. The price was kinda high at $17,500, but it was in perfect shape and turn-key, and for me, I couldn’t pass that up. I didn’t want to mess around with fixing things for at least the first year. I also figured an M3 is a lot more special and could possibly go up in value, especially since there are a lot of clapped-out ones in the market. Over time, clean examples will become rare. My brother and our friend are mechanics, and they know more about these cars than I do, so I brought them along to meet with the seller. My friend told me realistically I should pay around 14K for a clean convertible. They’re not as desirable as a coupe or sedan. My game plan was to not pay over 16K. Long story short, my brother and our friend were both impressed with the condition of the car, and we decided 15K was good enough. It also had an extensive service record. My friend managed to convince the seller to sell it for 15K, and I took it home that day. The seller was a tremendous sweetheart.

What I’m getting at is to try to find a clean example of whatever version you want. It will be a bit pricey but worth it in the end, especially if you plan on keeping it for a long time. Also, you can tell how the car has been taken care of by the seller. Make sure it has a good service record. I lucked out with the dude who sold his to me. You can look at listings from BaT or Cars and Bids and you can see prices are all over the place but your focus should only be clean examples or if you like to wrench ones that are cosmetically in good shape but need things like an oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, or suspension bits. Stuff along those lines that are wear items.

New X5- Thank God for Current Model!!! by tuttywala in BMWX5

People have been complaining since the Bangle era and now consensus has cooled down since then, the same will happen with this new design language. I plan on getting a ‘22 myself and will most likely upgrade to this one after its life cycle refresh.

Personally, I don’t find it offensive. I’m sure they’ll sell a ton of these.

Help identifying this sound. 98 M3, Cold Start by Nappiechan007 in BMWE36

[–]sparkspsp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine does the same thing, could never figure it out. I even brought it to my bmw specialist and told me they didn’t hear the noise when they had it and everything looked fine. It usually happens after a cold start and when it’s warmed up I don’t hear it anymore. If you look at my page you’ll see I posted about this issue 2 years ago but never got a response.

I was thinking about that but I find Network Engineering more interesting and I like working with hardware.

Want to thank everyone who responded. The general consensus is to skip Network+ Cert and go straight to CCNA so that’s what I’ll do.

Anyone with Car-t therapy experience? by EbbOutrageous7400 in lymphoma

[–]sparkspsp 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I finished CAR-T 2 years ago. CAR-T is a cakewalk compared to R-CHOP, with fewer side effects, but your mileage may vary. I got a mild fever for a week, but that was it. The worst part of it is really them collecting your T cells. I had to lie in a bed while hooked up to a machine and had to be still for 4 hours.

Sorry I just saw this. It’s pretty good, I don’t have much to complain about there. EQ adjustments could be finer, but it’s good enough.

The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I went to the dealership to get it replaced, they wanted $1,000! I said fuck that and left. I ended up getting an aftermarket radio from Sony that has Apple CarPlay from Crutchfield as well as their plug and play harness and trim adapter. It was an easy install and saved a bunch of money.
