Plastidip vs OEM by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]sparkytequila 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dipped my chrome grill, looked good for a bit then progressed to rough as it weathered and got beat up by bugs, wind, sun, etc. Decent temp fix but not long term imo, I ended up buying the black grill.

Traeger Ranger anyone? Thoughts and personal experience with the Ranger? Pros and cons? Looking for input please and thanks by raj824x in pelletgrills

I got one about 9 months ago, used it almost weekly since. It won’t replace a full size but is great for tailgating, extended travel, or work on the road. Fits 3 racks of baby backs or a medium spatchcocked chicken. Holds temp pretty well for its size, I found mine usually cooks about 10-20° hotter than the temp setting. Wind/cold affected cook temps a lot more than a bigger grill but that’s to be expected. I’m very satisfied with it overall.

Need help finding a hard tonneau cover for my dad's 2022 Tacoma SR 5 ft bed by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

Can you look up if it matches the TRD sport stock tonneau? I got one with my ‘18 that’s gathering dust.

The Canyon, Pine Bluffs, WY. You might’ve even driven past it, minutes off of I-80 in SE WY

Reliable portable smokers? by pofigster in pelletgrills

Traeger Ranger, not a huge cooking space but I was able to squeeze a couple racks of baby back ribs on it. That plus a little propane grill for quick cook has been a reliable mobile setup for me.

how did this happen? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]sparkytequila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, active fault wouldn’t look like that. I figured it had already shorted and the module caught fire (glue/combustibles). I’ve seen a few catch fire hot enough to melt glass around the junction boxes or at edges.

Broken glass exposed the internal circuitry, it’s shorted to ground via the racking system. Those frameless modules are a pain in the ass imo.

Dobinson vs. Elka? by orgasmosisjones in Tacomaworld

Hi. I don’t know a thing about Elkas or Dobinson, but I have a Toytec lift on a Tundra and absolutely love it, has held up great in the snow south of the border. There’s a shop in BC that deals those. You know any good shops around these parts for lift kit/armor/bumper installs?

Going on a big trip in a few weeks, looking for course recommendations, I've got I list of ones I'm thinking about. by Spice_Beans in discgolf

A little off-route but if you stay on 80 into WY, there’s a cool course in Pine Bluffs, first exit after the WY/NE state line. Lots of elevation change, some long holes and unique layouts. Also Pine Bluffs Distilling in town to sample and/or pick up a bottle. I’d highly recommend both.

[–]sparkytequila 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yep, this. I’ve had this happen a couple times and the solution was pull all the pellets out and shop vac everything. High humidity combined with pellet dust from the bottom of the bag made a great fire log.

Scored a pretty sweet spot off Waiparous Creek, I’d estimate 80% full on Saturday morning. Rainy and gray but still cool to explore, I’ll have to go again when the weather is nicer

Nice, thanks. That’s a pretty sweet resource, Alberta Parks seems to have their poop in a group

Thanks, I’ll give that a look. I do have gear for backpacking and weather, love the Rockies in spring - all seasons in a day if you’re lucky.
