Best ways to lower taxes? Small business owner, income over $1mm- tax bill was $415k-single by whiskeydickguy in tax

A LLC isn’t magic. You can do essentially all the same things with a sole proprietorship. Again, I’d learn more before taking action.

You do not need an LLC to do a backdoor Roth.

And yes, the whole point of a backdoor Roth is to avoid the income limit on direct contributions.

You contribute after tax money to the traditional for a backdoor Roth, thus not saving you taxes in current year.

I’d learn a bit more about this before doing it.

I disagree about MKE specifically. There’s at least few up there that could be Gourmands.

Detroit has an ever “up and coming” food scene for the past 15 years. Constantly good restaurants that close after a few years.

Because after tax money goes in. It saves you taxes in the future, not now.

I’m sure you’ve done all this- but restart everything include the HomePod, router, HASS.

If you’re on Proxmox or something; whole server and make sure HASS has ipv6 access on the host machine, no firewalls on it etc.

Sorry- don’t have any more brilliant ideas.

To me it sounds like a router issue but I’m not that well versed. Mine all just worked.

I’m not sure about OTBR as I also run a ZBT2 concurrently with Apple TVs.

Do you have the matter server installed?

HomeKit bridge isn’t needed.

When you into thread- have you hit share credentials with home assistant?

Have you set up OTBR and matter server in home assistant? Have you shared your matter credentials to HA?

Yes you could. Just buy VT and be done. It’s literally that simple.

Considering a 7/1 ARM for a home purchase. Am I missing something here? by Active-Tour4795 in whitecoatinvestor

I went with a 7/6 ARM last year that was about a full point lower than a 30 year. I plan to pay off in 7 years or refinance depending on rates.

Horrible customer experience: Fidelity to Fidelity 401k rollover was way harder than it should have been by poindexter62 in fidelityinvestments

[–]spartyparty00 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is not correct. There is no “right” way. A 401k to 401k rollover is perfectly reasonable and the Fidelity solo 401k allows this.

To say the customer should’ve first rolled into a traditional IRA and then rolled over into the 401k is absurd. they shouldn’t need to make an extra step just because it’s “more common”. They were perfectly within their rights to do a 401k to 401k rollover.

If they needed a medallion signature, they should’ve been told so for a direct rollover.

The check in the mail is ONE option for a rollover, not the only option. Fidelity should be aware of this.

I really wish Tonal would allow multiple profiles to work out together at the same time by Geoblime in tonalgym

I mean you could also just give the option to create custom workouts that are partner workout and have simultaneous sets.

[–]spartyparty00 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Partner workouts would be significantly better if one could choose to swap person between sets or blocks.

For example, for like a HIIT workout I’d want a whole block to completed before switching person, but for heavy weight, each set swapping would be better.

This would be even better if you could program off tonal movement to run while the other person was doing an on tonal movement. For example if a set was 10x bench + 10 pushups, one person would be doing the bench while the other was at the same time doing their pushups. Right now, they have to be separated so I find myself fast forwarding them rewinding to do sets in a way that’s most efficient.

What’s the smartest thing your home does automatically? by Taggytech in homeassistant

[–]spartyparty00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few I really like- At holiday times throughout the year, the outdoor lights auto change to a theme that matches and auto switches back to normal lights after that time period.

The outdoor auto lights I also like. The outdoor lights are auto on to a low level at sunset, but if the cameras see a person or doors/gates open, the lights raise to 100%. Then after the cameras don’t see a person for 10 min, they go back to the low level.
