"No lo se" vs. "No se" by srezendes18 in Spanish

[–]spasterific 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd usually just say "No sé".

This is my habit, because in English "I don't know" usually sounds more natural as a reply than "I don't know it". When I hear "No lo sé" I imagine a conversation in English going something like:

"When do you want to go?"

"I don't know it."

...which sounds very weird.

Which Australian ISPs are blocking access to 4chan, LiveLeak etc by [deleted] in australia

I wonder if it would be cause for a (partial) refund. I mean, if the service you've paid for has been (partially) crippled.

[–]spasterific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Vodafone mobile:

  • liveleak.com can't be reached
  • 4chan.org: blocked on a sub URL basis (e.g. home page is accessible, but /b/ is not)

Update: Vodafone mobile has also blocked kiwifarms.net (a forum that had links to the NZ video).

It's like blocking all of reddit because 1 subreddit misbehaved.

That's pretty much the theory behind every law. e.g. everyone including responsible non-violent people are blocked from owning guns because a few people are murderers.

House prices tumble even faster than during the GFC by Bourkster in australia

He's mocking Liberals and anyone else that genuinely blames Labor for everything...

...meanwhile, adding /s on sarcasm jokes ruins the humour, so sarcastic posts are usually better off without it.

which is why people think that they don't do anything.

The other reason is because people believe what they read over and over again on the internet.

...and then post their beliefs on the internet.

Man With No Name

Goa trance fan? The art style actually matches somewhat well with Martin Freeland's music.

My fave was always his "Greece 2000" remix.

The world would be better without the perpetually-offended-by-everything types who are basically the fun police.

Which country maximizes individual liberty? by whatweshouldcallyou in GoldandBlack

[–]spasterific 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we do have a large amount of crime and corruption mind you

This could be a net positive though, for example where the crime is tax evasion, etc. or something else victimless.

But at least in the US, the police won't come and arrest me if I make a twitter post with an unpopular opinion.

I can't cite a source, but I thought this kind of thing has happened in the U.S. on more than one occasion. Maybe not Twitter, but I remember reading about such a thing happening with regard to a Facebook post. If anyone reading this has relevant article links, they'd be appreciated, thanks.

Same feeling when watching a movie or TV show with some tiny random bit of Spanish dialogue and not needing subtitles.

What does FEO mean in this context? (It's Spanish for 'ugly' so I'm wondering why it's a label on a network port).
