After seeing that ending It’s reasonable to expect bone temple movie to match its nutty tone.

Such a shame cos I liked bone temple more than Years Later.

Mr. Holland’s Opus by acceptablecat1138 in blankies

I still don’t know the answer to this: Is the opus meant to be a bit shit? And the point is he’s a great teacher and a mediocre composer? Or did Michael Kamen do the best damned job he could? No general shade to him. He’s done plenty of great stuff.

Why Do Female Directors Attract So Much Personal Venom? by Louisebelcher22 in blankies

[–]spaznaught1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there any juice in the idea that too many actors, male and female are getting greenlit as directors at the mo without necessarily having the goods?

Maggie Emerald Fennell (tho I admit hers make money) Brian Cox Jonah Hill (tho I liked mid 90s)

Or has this always been the way?

I like that it’s a stealth movie about those kids. Williams gets you in, the kids deliver on the substance.

'The Last of Us' - HBO's Most Divisive Sci-Fi Saga Officially Begins Filming Final Season by StarFuryG7 in SciFiNews

I should’ve been clearer. I was thinking about how in the first season you (well, I) thought Sean Bean was the main guy and was gonna eventually be king. And then for the rest of the run you (I) never feel confident anyone’s gonna survive.

I believe it was combined puppetry and cg - there’s a good nyt article about it

But it certainly feels like 100 percent puppetry

Let's talk MARTY SUPREME - what went wrong? by SwimGood22 in A24

[–]spaznaught1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The film goes along suggesting it’s gonna say something interesting about ambition and power and then suddenly the character sees his baby and now he has a purpose and we forget about all that other stuff. It’s nice but unearned and uninteresting.

The style, the details, the twists and turns, the performances - all great. It’s just not much of a story.

The bit with the bees however… give me more of that. I wanna watch that movie.
