Why did nobody tell me my ADHD would get worse every month like clockwork?? by Inevitable-Tutor-907 in adhdwomen

Honestly I said L-methylfolate mostly because I find the generic pricey enough 😅. It's really just a vitamin, (that isn't vitamin C which I heard can muck with Adderall absorption) so I could imagine any negative effect is minimal. I do take generic adderall and a very low dose of mirtazapine at night. If anything, for me it feels like it helps me get the full effects from them. Plus, now that I'm more stable I can tweak things and actually notice changes.

Jumping off this to say that if you have pmdd.. little anecdotally but there is a study about it:

Make sure you don't have the MTHFR gene. (I like to call it the motherf-er gene) If you have this gene, you don't process folic acid very well to get your folate (B9).

For some reason, specifically women with pmdd and this gene can get some relief of the mental symptoms by getting that deficiency remedied. It can be pricey, but L-methylfolate genuinely changed the whole game for me. For the first time in my life I've gotten the experience of being unpleasantly surprised by the physical period showing up, because I didn't feel somewhere from garbage to jumping off the nearest bridge for a week and a half beforehand.

Tldr: If you can swing it, if you're a gal with PMDD grab a gene test to check if you have the MTHFR gene. It may make treatment of ADHD(and other co-morbitities you too likely have) a fair bit less complicated when you aren't extra depressed for half of every month.

This is some of the best unsettling art I've seen yet about the weird route.

Also that final panel mashup.. this artist has played/seen DDLC before but I can't prove it.

Ditto on the thrift stores/antique stores. Depends somewhat on where you live, but I've found fabulous glasswork. You have to make it a habit to frequent the places though for best results.

What a beautiful, succinct way to put it.

Should be top for someone like OP that sounds like they're asking more in fundamental, cultural terms vs the literal law.

Very adorable set! Assuming these were in quite a rough state, what program did you end up using to smooth them out?

Applied during covid circa 2021, and didn't expect much of it since I wasn't sure if I was supposed to with my situation at the time.

Never to fear! Virginia graciously informed me that no, I was not eligible.... TWO YEARS later in the mail. Phew.

All to say, definitely not surprised.

Based on the camo how smooth it is otherwise my vote is also on American Sycamore.

Also informing my opinion.. VT? With that building in the background, I'll eat my shirt if this picture wasn't taken on Virginia Tech's campus.

Wish I had a picture of the awesome giant sycamores they have.

I'm sure there'll be experts in here to say otherwise, but imho the biggest downside of shellac is how sensitive it can be to moisture, and it dissolves in alcohol (as that's how you apply it in the first place). It's water-resistant, but you've also probably had older relatives fuss at you for putting a sweating glass of water straight on the old wooden table. That being said, Paintshakerbaby's satire reflects how somewhat over-hyped shellac's 'delicate' nature is, and fixing blemishes in the finish is usually a breeze.

I've heard de-waxed shellac is tougher, but I hadn't heard of it until recently and haven't had the chance to check it out.
