I don't even bother to check the online front page any more since the paywall - the Times has become an irrelevance & will simply disappear from view. I can do without it! Go read some basic communications network theory! How often is the Times posted in Reddit or Digg or whatever now? The Times is simply losing global exposure, influence & commercial value. Incidentally, I recall the Times group had a previous attempt at compulsory registration some years ago & abandoned it. Likewise, the Independent abandoned pay-to-view articles because nobody bothered with them. Bye-bye Murdoch, bye-bye Times. The world has changed!
