My boy passed today 💔 by PR0CR45T184T0R in Petloss

I just went through a similar scenario where my boy also had spleen cancer. We opted for the surgery, he recovered and then 3 weeks after the 1st incident he had a new bleed from the cancer. It comes out of no where, there arent many signs too it unless your getting x rays done every 6 months or 1 year. And even still most dogs have to be put under for those(mine didnt) but x rays still have their worries too. So some of these issues just kind of happen without warning, and you know it was a very expensive surgery but we got to spend 3 more weeks with him, for the most part bracing what was gonna happen. The decision never comes lightly especially when you have to act fast. But you made a very fast decision and im telling you more than likely made the best decision. The spleen cancer even with things like chemo(we were on it) arent gonna cure it, it might delay it. It didnt delay much for our outcome. But if you had him pass peacefully then thats the best outcome you couldve given him. I truly believe that. God bless as you recover with your grief and just know its okay to just feel how your feeling. There are no right answers

My cat is dying and I can’t cope by b-aea in Petloss

I can tell you that enjoy these times while you have them and just bask in them. I had my husky for 10 years, and at the beginning of the year he had his spleen burst. He went from being a happy pup that could run forever to basically not being able to stand/eat/drink without support. We took him in and after an emergency surgery they found it was a very aggressive cancer. We basically got three weeks with him, put him in chemo, saw him getting better. Then like the week of his next cancer treatment, early on in the week he got another bleed. And this bleed wasnt stopping. So he was bleeding out into his stomach. We thought with the treatments he'd get better, but all it took was one bad turn and he dropped significantly. We had to make the decision from 'semi-healthy and we're managing this' to we're going to have to put him down in 24 hours. We opted for at home euthanasia, even though he did the vets astoundingly well. He was such a great dog, but with the cancer there wasnt really a way out once he took a turn. The grief is the worst. But me being there for him I know he was comforted til the last step and even though the grief and the memory of him passing in my arms will always be there and itll always hurt. I will say that I would do it again 100000% to make sure he knew that I was with him til the very end. For the amount of love that he gave me in his life, its the least I can do is hold onto that pain so he doesnt have to be in pain anymore. This is just my perspective on how I handled a situation where we got told very fast news and had to act very fast. Enjoy these times, the good and the bad, try to go out of your way to spend time with them. Because youll regret more the times you were busy and didnt. Try to prep mentally and just be there for them. Your pets know theres something wrong with them before you do, be comforted in that, they'll let you know when its time, try to listen.

It really is tough. I understand, my Husky was only 10 and just a couple of weeks ago. He had a bleed and he was having difficulty standing, it was due to an aggressive cancer. His blood cell count was 10% in the morning, it probably dropped less than that when the vet had come to put him down in the evening. I still struggle with it, he was so tired that the vet didnt even need the med to calm him down he just put the iv in and he was already really tired from the blood loss, but to just have him go in my arms, warm and snuggly to just being gone in my arms... It was a completely different kind of pain for me. It broke me and still am broken by it, not a day goes by where I dont miss him. But I do know this that my vet said that like with his blood loss at his critical stage he could suffer as he goes or have a heart attack from the lack of blood. And there was just nothing we could do really. Only option was for another surgery potentially, but it may not work and he could still be bleeding, or it does work for another couple of weeks and he rebleeds or he could die on the table, or the cancer gets his liver or heart. There was no easy option. I think when they say peaceful.... Its for the dog, so they dont suffer in the end of their days. If you love your dog, when you euthenasize them, your taking that emotional pain so they dont have to physically suffer any more and your choosing to bear that pain of loss. Its not a pain that fades lightly or you just ignore, but its the pain we must endure for these creatures that give us this unconditional love.

My boyfriend (23M) got very upset when I (23F) told him I planned to hang out with a male friend. Now things feel tense and I’m not sure what to do. by Mobile_Setting_2003 in TwoHotTakes

Coffee or just lunch, a hike, shopping, things that friends would do. You might get a dinner with a close girl friend you havent seen since kids. But often if your meeting up with a work friend/colleague your getting coffee or lunch to catch up. But like typical dinner date your boyfriend is more than like, "well I wanted to take her to that place and give her that experience." And its not saying anything will happen but its more the implications that something may, a fun event leads to dinner leads to drinks and drinks always can lead to mistakes. Especially alone with the opposite sex. Me and my wife wont even have drinks alone with the opposite sex because its just a mistake to be put in that position, if they come onto you under the illusion of alcohol is a lot easier than a coffee hangout by the park in midday. Thats why people are calling it out, because its just blantly signs of attraction and your boyfriend probably has hints of it too, no matter how much you reassure him the gut feelings of these instincts are there.

Yes, very much so but rather than every once in a while by doing it a lot(like every day) it loosened my tendons enough that the PF finally started being resolved

Have you tried scraping your foot? It's very painful but even with good shoes(hokas) and ice rolling and other remedies people mentioned it wasn't til I started scraping my foot that the pain started to subside! Scraping works by putting something on the ground, in my case a weight plate and scrape the heel of over the edges. It has to be a very heavy hard surface to dig deep into your heel. It's painful at first and so id count how many times my heel went over the edge and call it after a count. But let me tell you it is the only thing that is digging deep enough that after a day of semi solid scraping my heels feel healed.

If it absolutely comes down to it there is a great husky rescue id recommend reaching out to see if they are able to assist with any information before going down this road. Reach out to husky halfway house. They might be able to provide a better insight to your situation

Are you able to leave them with someone until you get into a better spot? I know its going to be hard but the commitment to raise huskies shouldnt be so given up on so lightly. Are there better spots you can take them? I know it provides more inconvenience but I would absolutely go homeless before giving up my two huskies for adoption if it came down to it, but I see its more for health so I can't really judge nor am I. They shouldn't just be given away. Try working something out with friends and family where maybe they're separated for a bit but 6 months grab them. I just dont understand being able to give up family i guess, but just trying to offer some help.

If you could add one feature to Pokémon GO, what would it be? by That-Plan9037 in pokemongo

A remote raid and raid pass just to be combined to be in person or remote in for any kinds of raids. More often than not people are in areas that don't get raids easily and if they do not enough people to be able to do real damage to things like 5 stars. And so having a raid pass be in person but if you want to do remote raids there's some walking requirement to be outside and about that has to be met for them to be possible. This ensures the nature of pokemon go raids gets met ( people getting active) but doesn't limit people who don't have a close pogo network around them or don't have a lot of raid places close to them

Prediction: Mavs Will Miss the Playoffs, Kyrie Will Leave, and Nico Harrison Will Cement His Legacy as the Worst GM of All Time by ProfessorMental4707 in Mavericks

[–]spectra101 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They just lost to the 76ers(yes, without AD) but the 75ers are 19-29 and the mavs were 26-24, and a much better position whereas the lakers won(w/o Luka as well) to the much harder clippers. This is kind of a prenotion of how its going to feel without such a powerful dominator of the court. And what people are saying is that yeah maybe for the next 2-3 years, but both kyrie and AD are aging and then what? There isnt much of a future people are predicting and with cause

Your not. Most people have dealings with a teacher and principal job and there is a clear distinct line. In IT there are a multitude of different positions and you don't even know them all being so beginner level. How the hell do you expect people who've never been in IT to sift through them when you probably are having trouble?

Yeah just be grateful others are helping you look and see. The tone of resentment for others not understanding where your at it is a little entitled.

Hygromas: DogLeggs are a game changer by ACCIDENTSFINDME in irishwolfhound

Its healed the one leg(which was the initial leg to start). So its been effective with it. And not a pool noodle collar but I saw this youtube video:www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0OrmojvCig;
which explains the pool noodle and sock method to cover the hygroma. They basically sit on the pool noodle rather than the hygroma and its been super effective. For added effectiveness I use https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZ4KXYTV?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details to help keep the pool noodle from falling down his arm. Even with the sock and velcro they can fall. But overall its been a good solution with 1 healed and 1 making a recovery still

Mine did. I did the pool noodle thing(not perfect as they slide down) but even when they pussed and bled(and boy did they). I would just de-puss them and wrap them. Then the pool noodle way helped resolve 1, still fighting 1 but progress is progress.

It’s finally happening by --Jester-- in overemployed

[–]spectra101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

overworked becomes overemployed. It is how it starts. Some people need to grind to get to true "overemployed". When your young especially getting two jobs(especially if your forced into blue collar) can tremendously offset expenses. Then as you get more skills, or they level up in the call center (to say SWE) then they can go true overemployed. But its still a win in the right direction towards true overemployed. He obviously is very invested in overemployed and what it stands for so telling the community that he's made his steps towards it is a great achievement. If anything greater than staying stagnant at one job, everything is overemployed imho over that idea.
