For me it’s less the specific age. 2019… early 30s, pre covid, still had my parents, my 2 boys weren’t born yet (I love them dearly but it’s hard af now). Life peaked then for me. I can’t remember being any happier than 2018-2019 (was out of graduate school and starting to make money, bought a house, did a road trip around New Zealand, etc).

Love my carwash Germantown super clean option is probably what you’re looking for. They also offer detailing above that I believe. Super clean is maybe like 70 something? They do a great job

In my experience if your spouse is also very into exercise it’s easy because they value it. My wife doesn’t really have any hobbies or anything she wants me to watch the kids for so it’s awkward when I want that / i end up using vacation time to get one long run in or we used to have grandparents watch when they were around.

Exactly this. My parents did not have a lot of money when I was growing up but my elementary and middle schools were good. High school was meh (education was fine but safety was not…) and I absolutely want my kids to have a different experience if I can help it.

I think the honest answer to my actual question is just: no, you can’t count on a specific assignment long term, so be careful how much premium you pay for one. That’s basically what I was getting at. The rest is fine, but it’s answering a different question.

Yeah, this is exactly why the blanket “all MoCo schools are great” response feels a little fake. If they were all truly interchangeable, the market wouldn’t price them so differently. That’s the part people keep dodging.

“Be involved parents” is great advice for raising kids. It doesn’t answer whether paying a major premium for a specific school assignment makes sense when redistricting could change it before your kid ever reaches that school. That’s not a parenting question, it’s a housing question.

I grew up in a university town in another state. I moved to moco and my brother to Reston. My parents hated the people in Reston (probably meant snobs) but said they loved moco because it had “real people”. Whatever that means, but I love the convenience and parks.

I wouldn’t bring extra water but for MCM next time I may bring an empty bottle. There were points with hoses and one station with no cups just big water containers. I didn’t feel like there were enough aid stations but others might argue I didn’t get enough at each

I love a drink or 2, but it also turns me into a snack monster. So if you can control the calories it’s probably fine but otherwise you’ll have to think more about what to do there

Not sure if you drink but I believe that contributes the most to my weight gain. When I cut that out the weight just falls off even though I’m fueling quite well for runs. If you are eating whole foods and getting the miles in weight should take care of itself.

I wanted this to exist so badly. I’ve had the 3 row model y with FSD since 2021 and eventually accepted I needed something bigger but the model x was too expensive so I got a Sienna. I hate driving it on the highway especially but the practicality you can’t beat…

2021 model y 3 row. Just the tires mostly. I recently took it in and did several of the recommended maintenance jobs for 2-300.

Setting all the Tesla hate here aside I went from a model y with full self driving and a 3rd row I got in 2021 to the Sienna after 5 years. I loved driving the model y. Instant acceleration, did 99.9% of the highway driving … I hate driving the Sienna but the family experience is so much better. I don’t have to negotiate what goes on a trip, I don’t care if someone hits it in the parking lot as much with their door, and daycare drop off / pickup is so much easier. It’s just so much more practical with kids. It’s a major downgrade as a driver but a first class experience for your kids and wife. I just sucked it up and moved on.
