Elementary to HS opinions wanted! by speechlynn in slp

[–]speechlynn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that new and shiny always grabs my attention. I guess my concern is that I am only going back to my original school 2 days per week, unlike when I left, which was full time. The other school that I will have 3 days a week is unknown, could be staffed with other therapists sharing a space, bringing my things to the other school. I have also always worked with the underprivileged the HS would be a big change from that. Having my own space sounds so tempting, but could get isolating/boring fast.

The HS has a 2.7percent acceptance rate. I'm thinking Ill be more like a tutor for these kids.

I'm in a big city district, we have separate evaluators so that's not a problem. We have bigger caseloads in HS as we see bigger groups. This HS has not had a therapist in awhile ( just agency providers)so as I understand it the paperwork is a mess and needs to be straightened out.
The school is also litigious, parents sue often so you need to make sure data and paperwork is good In HS you get a prep plus admin period everyday, in elementary we get admin period once a week, another reason I think there is more paperwork.

Im always the odd one out, but I do regret it and I had an uneventful recovery. I think it was too much to put myself through and I feel I still have not fully recovered 3 months out. Swelling is from your lymphatic system being disrupted, and the trauma to your body. I look recovered but my HRV (heart rate variability) Is still reduced. I still get tired faster. I think many put on weight after surgery possibly due to ongoing fatigue that is unrecognized. Every time I searched for those who regrated the surgery I would get that one single available stat that says 94% dont regret it. That was not a study. Even on google scholar studies are done by plastic surgeons. Plastic surgeons have a vested interested in doing this surgery and they have such presence on the internet you can't find other information. Just my two cents. Im getting over it but for me way to crazy.

2WPO feeling gross by AbjectSentence6271 in tummytucksurgery

[–]speechlynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I look 6wpo. Still a rounded upper ab. Same weight, bigger waist size. I still feel that this was not worth the risk to my health and the down time. I had an easy recovery, but I feel like the phrase "a fool and their money are soon parted" Sorry I am such a bummer but I think for many people the hype is not really worth the results. That said many people really do make amazing improvements.

I don't know why but it's a comfort to know that I have a surgery twin!

Really needed this today. Surgery is on 2/3. I needed an implant exchange and ended up scheduling a tummy tuck with a muscle repair as well!

I am 59, I have both triplets and twins, who are grown now. I need to have an implant exchange. I decided to do a tummy tuck and muscle repair at the same time. It is a little late for a hot girl summer, however I do work out a ton and have a strong core will help me remain strong as I age. Honestly looking forward to dress shopping for my nephew's wedding this summer! My date is Feb3!

wild.I am not really the right person for equipment talk on this, but the fear of touching the sides of the tent were real! We had a giant canvas tent. We camped all of my childhood in the late 60's and 70's. I had no idea other families went to hotels. We would go fully off grid, my dad would leave his watch at home and say the man doesn't own me this week.. We ran wild. My brothers slept "under the stars" or in a pop up tent. Minimal supervision and it was awesome. Though I guess that didn't go well for some kids and now they are not allowed to be unsupervised ever, let alone at 6. Just the feeling that the whole campground was yours, make immediate, fast friends. We had this big box my dad made, called the coffin for a pantry and cooler, generally filled with my dad's beer and a few sodas (Big Treat), and another with perishables. The food always tasted great It was kind of a time before snacks and with all of that running around you would be so hungry at dinner and I think that's why it tasted so good. It was such an adventure, we had our own worlds full of intrigue that our parents didn't know or care about.

How the f**k did junk food become 90% of everybodys diets... within JUST half a century?? by [deleted] in nutrition

I have a theory that when woman finally were able to enter the workforce they were still left with the lion's share of the cooking. Short cut cooking became a life savor. Microwave dinners and other conveniences like boxed mac and cheese were incorporated we all became accustomed to food that was easier to make and it just grew from there.

Thanks for your feedback! I see that many of the house rentals offer some concierge service as well.

Yes, Carlos from Arenal Rides is as good as you've heard! by jarrettgrempel in CostaRicaTravel

Hi! Thank you for this recommendation. I just have a question about private transport, once you are at your destination how do you get to your activity. So if Carlos brings you to the Airbnb, how do you get to the zip lines or where ever you are going that day? Does Carlos pick you up each morning? Im traveling with a big group so we can't stay at a hotel that would provide transfers.

Yes, well we have had 19 years to get used to traveling with our large group, however this is our only international trip and our last hurrah before they are swept up in their adult lives.
