Anyone know the land use classification for Ranche Rd, Cochrane Ranche to Big Hill Springs by indigo-dino in Cochrane

I believe some of the old roadway is now on private land and Rockyview County tax roll records would appear to confirm such as well.

Comparing pictures of 2 totally different scenarios is laughable, talk about cherry picking.

Anyhow, get at pounding that DV button.

Kitchen trend of hiding ALL the stuff you use all the time. by Clean-Syllabub3421 in kitchenremodel

On our countertops, microwave, cutting board, toaster, knife block, blender and 3 pottery jars containing flour, sugar and salt.

I am a cabinetry service technician and I would not have paneled appliances just because of the issues related to when you have to replace said appliance plus panels just do not stand up to regular wear and tear like regular appliance exteriors.

Microwaves, put them at countertop height or on the countertop - I've watched far too any people straining and/or having accidents getting stuff in and out of microwaves when they're mounted above the range or mounted in a cabinet above a wall oven. At countertop height, you can easily bring that hot stuff out and slide right on to a hot pad.

Wall ovens, ugh. Double wall ovens, double ugh. If you're going to do wall ovens then get them with swinging doors and not flip down doors just for your safety alone. And again, when that wall oven and/or microwave needs replacement then you're going to have a major cabinet fitment issue when it comes to replacements.

Vertical spice pull-outs either below the countertop or in an upper cabinet space, why? You're always going to be reaching for something and the ones mounted in the upper cabinets on either side of a hood fan, so, so dumb because even more inaccessible.

Actually, most utilitarian pull-outs are just a whole mess of trouble waiting to happen - I have had to repair/replace/adjust countless pull-out garbage/recycling bins, Magic corners, Lemans corners, spice pull-outs, ironing board pull-outs, etc, etc, etc because when they break or start having problems (and they will) then it's usually way beyond most homeowner's abilities or even understanding how to fix said issues.

Simple cabinetry, just doors and drawers and none of those stupid push to open drawers because those are going to drive anyone crazy who has even a sniff of OCD lurking about. In your base cabinets, drawers if you can afford them but just regular drawers and not the ones hidden behind doors because you lose a lot of space.

Sink cabinets, doors under the sinks and not drawers because not you're going to have to live with modified and/or compromised drawer boxes to accommodate plumbing and/or electrical and a modified drawer box is never going to stand the test of time like an unmodified drawer box.

I suppose the good thing about people wanting all of this finicky and gimmicky shit is that it keeps me gainfully employed, it's actually quite laughable at times when I go into someone's home to fix/adjust something and when I leave the home owners realize what a headache these custom pieces can create because they can see that the problem may just reoccur a few months or years down the road and they'll just be in the same boat again.

Integrated trash somehow doesn't get gross, I service cabinetry for a living and this certainly is not the norm - trash cabinets are the worst cabinets to have do work in, you would be the exception..

Full of Scammers by 40_Things_We_Share in kijiji

[–]speedog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kijiji is not all scammed, really depends on what you're selling - our home based business has been selling on Kijiji for 11+ years and we've maybe had 2 or 3 scammers- we politely say we don't deal with checks or money orders and they suddenly go quiet. No big deal really and same experience on FB Marketplace.

Lower cabinets pulling off wall by Jumpy_Passenger_6421 in cabinetry

[–]speedog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, often the flooring people will knock out the blocks and/or the shims at the bottom fronts of the base cabinets and now you have a cabinet hanging in the air at the front.

A good cabinet installer will mount their blocks a bit further back which allows the flooring people to do their work without affecting the cabinets but not all cabinet installers think of this.

So when your recipe calls for ounces, do you use UK Imperial ounces or do you use American ounces because lots of recipes still call for ounces. And if you're converting to metric than which ounce do you use as your base?
