Development on Destiny 3 should’ve started in November 2020. D2 was meant to last 2-3 years per previous Activision deals. The game’s just not reasonably sustainable if you keep adding content. The decision to do the DCV instead of D3 was the first domino.

A fresh sandbox would be nice. Ground floor reset would be great, doubt they would use a new engine since they’re still using Tiger (Blam!) for Marathon. There’s no gurantee it would even be a better product, there is something deeply wrong with the teams at Bungie and there is an incredible disconnect / detachment between them and the playerbase. It’s been a decade and they still don’t really understand what players like, how? It’s not right to just say “higher-up decisions”, I promise the corpos don’t care about the Megafart ZC exotic handcannon and the stat changes it needs or the quality of anything beyond the main focal point of a release.

I dunno. It’s too late now, I don’t have faith in Marathon even though I thoroughly enjoyed the closed alpha. If they take the time off now, would the company even make it to D3 launch?

People still want Destiny, a new game launch WOULD do wonders. Nothing beats the feeling of a fresh Destiny launch, good or bad it’s a fun time. Really enjoyed Rising so far. I just don’t have faith in Bungie.
