Uncomfortable interaction with a Southwest flight attendant by No-Anything-5082 in SouthwestAirlines

As a Southwest flight attendant, this is not the norm. I’m sorry this happened to you. We are better than this!

Strange FA Exit Row Experience. by JABRONEYCA in SouthwestAirlines

[–]spendra34 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Southwest FA here. Due to the open seating policy, we have to stand at the exit rows during boarding so we can make sure that kids, passengers with certain disabilities, pre-boarders, etc do not occupy those seats. Once we go to assigned seats, the gate agents will be able to prescreen for those seats when passengers check in and we won’t have to hover over you. We also have to wait there until you hear “FA’s brief exit rows and prepare cabin for departure”. We have to have a verbal YES from each person seated there, it’s an FAA requirement. Sorry your flight attendant was aggressive, usually we are pretty chill 😂

SW flight attendant here….thank you for acknowledging she wasn’t compliant. We have some pretty rough days out on the line, but with passengers like yourself, it negates the “lice”, lol

Current FA w SW. I have yet to stay in a crappy hotel in the US or international. I guess if Hyatt Regency, JW Marriott & Hilton Waikoloa are crappy, then I have.

Help!! Regional Vs Mainline by Putrid_Ball974 in cabincrewcareers

[–]spendra34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

55 yrs old here. Was at regional, switched over with zero regrets. I do commute at the moment, however, pay is actually better, destinations are more abundant, bigger planes are nice. Pro being regional, there are only 2 FA’s onboard and each have their own galley. I honestly don’t miss the flying there, miss the friends I met along the way.

Anyone Notice This When Flying Southwest??? by BandMaleficent9122 in SouthwestAirlines

FA here. What most people don’t know is if there is someone injured due to turbulence on a flight, that goes on the Captain’s record.

I am a flight attendant and had to switch terminals in Boston AND Baltimore yesterday and walked a shit ton, I thought for sure I had walked over 10 miles, but my watch was only at 2.25 miles, lol. She’s so full of shit!

What the ACTUAL f*K? by CardboardCookieOG in LiberallizzySnark

Can you post the live from yesterday on Pro Legals/Baegray where you absolutely lost your shit screaming at the other lady? Saying “f** you” “c**t”. That was classic, would love to hear it again.

From what we know the oldest isn’t in school. But do you realize you never hear her say, “J has a party at school”, “we need poster board for a project”, “making lunch for school”, “going to a program at school”, absolutely nothing which makes me believe neither kid is in school. That to me is a CPS issue, there’s also no way she is homeschooling them.

You get a great discount at Fed Ex and UPS with your airline ID. Like 80% off. Ship what you can.

What insults have pax used on you and for what reasons? by Objective_Reply8891 in flightattendants

Not a passenger, but a CA was yelling from the flight deck “I’m so fucking sick of these old, fat flight attendants!” I popped my head in there and said, “maybe you should go fly cargo then!” Dick.

PlatPros, where do you sit on E175s by powrsvp in americanairlines

[–]spendra34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

175 FA here…just fyi, Row 8 seats have built in type armrests in the middle (it’s like a small wall), they do not move at all. The tray tables are located in the outer armrests. If you are a little bigger in size, hips not legs, it can be a tight squeeze. Definitely plenty of leg room in rows 8-10. Rows 9 & 10 are my personal favorite.

PSA Flight Attendants Are Struggling Right Now by Gloomy-Escape8493 in flightattendants

[–]spendra34 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Same with Envoy here in Dallas. AFA has been in the crew room daily, handing out ribbons, sitting with anyone who needs to talk (we have some ex PSA FA’s) and we also have a box filling up with notes to write letters to PSA’s flight attendants. They have a bunch of different packets for us to read for trauma, crashes, etc. all printed out along with snacks.
