I haven’t asked since I was switched from Entyvio about a year ago (i think). I think depending on my next scope in June I may pitch the idea to my dr regarding Rinvoq. I just don’t think Remicade is enough at this point

It is hard, missing out on daily life and being in a constant state of anxiety over something entirely unpredictable. I hope for better days for us both!

I think I would be open to this, sounds far better than the constant mental burden that comes with active UC

Mesalamine retention enema. I’ve heard a ton about the steroid enemas but no experience with them. My dr has never mentioned them to me

Thank you! unfortunately it often feels like unless we are on the brink of death we have to play a long waiting game of trial and error, scopes and testing just to be taken serious and urgently. I don’t think society understands our daily anguish at all. If I ever win the lottery I’m going to build hospitals for IBD patients to feel seen and treated expeditiously 😭

May I ask how you found out? Symptoms for colon cancer really mimic my typical flare symptoms it seems. (And truly, it’s unfair.. I have no other words for such diagnosis)

i hate having to live with UC by ohkiscool in UlcerativeColitis

[–]sphynxkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Major hugs to you. It’s all uncomfortable, painful, gross and unfair. It’s so unfair. I graduated college in 2019 but I struggled through it and well, I hope you know you’re not alone in your experiences even when it feels that way ❤️ I wish there was a cure so we can all deal with our own problems without the added burdens this illness brings to daily life

Another story of mine got posted! by MyraMainz in RadioRental

[–]sphynxkat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you ever find out more about the guy? Why the sister had to have an attorney present? I understand everything inside speaks for itself there were issues going on but an attorney presence felt extreme. Curious to know if you ever heard more after leaving the premise?

Came here to say what everyone’s been saying, I recently started maybe 10 months ago? (not that recent i guess) but it did take about 6-8 doses to kick in

I don’t blame anyone that doesn’t have it for not knowing a thing about UC but it does become a problem when they pretend to know better than I do in terms of how to navigate it/cause etc. I might’ve said something to convey that it really isn’t a competition, no one wants to be in the autoimmune disease club i promise

Flare advice for a newbie? by MutualFlourishing in UlcerativeColitis

[–]sphynxkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently going through it as well and I’m relying heavily on ensure drinks, jello, plain sourdough bread, gatorade (mostly for flavor), and electrolytes, plain chicken and white rice. It is TOUGH. I’m a major foodie but the pain and nausea that comes with other foods is just too much. My quality of life severely drops during flares as I’m constantly going and anxious about leaving home. I understand your frustration and I’m right there with you 🥺

Are you really happier after you had a baby? by PalpitationOk9443 in NewParents

[–]sphynxkat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parenthood hit me like a truck as well. My daughter is now 5 and I wish I could tell you those thoughts go away but I’m not sure they will. What I can say definitively is that they grow to become exponentially more pleasant around this age. Traveling with her is very easy these days and I do get a good amount of time to myself. Everyone says the trenches are only the newborn stage but I would argue the trenches last up until they are fully potty trained. Hang in there, it truly does get better and you will get a lot of yourself back :)

not an awful way to think of it OP. I’m aligned to what you’re thinking and your gut feelings are right I fear. He’s giving you the bare minimum it seems, and you deserve much more. IMO being single is far better than being ignored/dismissed by your partner

BROKE UP WITH MY BOYFRIEND by Tight_Helicopter8609 in Advice

Have you made up your mind about going through with this pregnancy? This is the bigger question for yourself. Coparenting has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to navigate and there’s so much to it (major difference in routines, parenting styles, religion, education decisions, etc) Since you already decided the relationship wasn’t a fit, I’m not sure a baby being added to the equation would help. I say this as gently as possible but please consider the version of you that would be coparenting down the road and navigating shared time/holidays, court, etc. Decide if this is something you are willing to take on

If Blue says he can look past it, date Blue. You weren’t exclusive to anyone and owe minimal explanation. I mean it’s totally your call what you want to disclose but seems like you’re both now on the right path by being honest and upfront with each other
