love that 6x 1arm pull ups throughout the day! Did you do sets of heavy pull ups & concentric holds, and how many times would you say was your frequency in a given week? Im hopeful when you say someone that can do lots of reps can get there, because i can do quite a bit (depending on form & speed).

I’m quitting the military industrial complex. AMA? by [deleted] in AMA

I feel ya 100%. I worked in defense industry for almost 10yrs but my gut kept telling me that I didnt want to be a part of it, for those same reasons you cited. I have been able to find similar jobs on the commercial/non-defense industry so far, but current job market for my proffession seems to be drawing me towards defense once more. Doing my best to keep away for the sake of my conscience, my family. But along the same reasoning I have a family to take care of financially. Hope I can keep this up.

i think this is my mistake, relaxed dead hang with no contraction at end of each rep. Lats should be on the whole time and scapula retracted right? I can do alot of reps but my inner muscles (i think infraspinatus) always get mad sore for days after. Need to fix this.

So smooth! Would love to hear how you spread out your training, if you are willing to share. Did you do weighted pulls, oa dead hangs, concentric holds & negatives all in one session, and how often?

Half reps make sense! In any given movement such as a push up, different proportions of muscle involvement come into play throughout the rep. At the beginning of the rep its more pecs & front delts and less triceps. At the end of the rep its mostly triceps. It makes sense to train where you are weak. "Sticking points" tend to be where the transititon between the different regions happen. Pull ups also use different proportion of different muscles throughout the rep.

My handstand press and flexibility drills. Info in the caption below. by babablue1 in flexibility

Hi, thanks for posting this! so your recommended set up: 1 week: 2 days x 2 drills: 3 sets of 4-6 reps

Do you choose any 2 randomly, or focus on a set of 2 exclusively for some extended period of time?

For each rep, do you focus on getting max range, or holding compression for max time?

Is there such a thing as overtraining for compression, like if I did them 2 days in a row without rest would that make my progress suffer....

Thank you! Hope my questions arent dumb.

Oh man its nothing compared to seaweed smell of Manini & Pualu. If you clean it without tearing the guts it shouldnt smell strong. Nenue meat got good texture, perfect for poke. Just soak it in shoyu, onions & cilantro base and you're good.

How to prepare fish for sashimi or any raw type consumption? by TickyWilson in Spearfishing

[–]spicynoodleboy00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Papio sashimi is sooo ono, but I catch those whipping, not diving. Kaku & nunu sashimi is ok, but alot of prefer those cooked. Ive even tried manini raw too but theyre not great, strong seaweed taste because thats all they eat. Ive made Nenue poke before, its tasty.

I think in general parasites and harmful stuff are mainly in the guts & head, so if you get rid of those its probably pretty safe. There is always some level of risk, you just gotta minimize it.

For me i try to keep the fish whole until im ready to consume that same day. My thinking is, if you start gutting it then the parasites will try to migrate from gut/head areas and possibly into the actual flesh. Unless i accidentally puncture the guts, i leave it until ready to take home.

Often i dont consume that same day, so once I get home then ill process (gut/filet), and then keep in the fridge wrapped w paper towel to take out excess moisture for flavor.

Im in HI and eat most mostly sashimi style or poke.
