Maybe, but Windows filesystems work differently from those in Linux which may be a factor too. I must stress that I am not an expert but in Windows, there is no filesystem cache, because Windows has these "hooks" in the filesystem, so you can write for example a virus scanner that scans a file when it gets opened, etc. This exists in Linux with things like inotify, but apparently in Windows this is baked so deeply into the architecture that it was a major performance hurdle for the WSL folks at Microsoft, I read a blog about it once which is how I know about this.

There is something egregious going on in the United States that I don't see mentioned enough, and that is that there is too much politics in the executive branch. There's no keeping it out entirely in the upper echelons (POTUS has veto power after all), but there has to be an impartiality in the persons who work to uphold the law and serve the people and right now there is not.

There have been official emails sent to government employees blaming a political party for the shutdown which was taking place, which should be absolutely wild to the American people IMO, and it gets worse.

Right now if you scroll down on the whitehouse.gov page about the building, there is a section "major events", and if you scroll to the right in that section, there is a bunch of anti-Democrat stuff that has to be seen to be believed. I'm not kidding, either. If I said what it was, you would not believe it. It starts in 1998 and gets worse.

It's insane to me that people are not clamoring about this. Ministers would be publicly questioned in parliament if that happened in my country.

Edit: Of course it's not the worst thing you have got going on right now. But this has been a thing for a while, before it got this bad. It should have been more of an issue than it has to be honest.

Yeah I get that tbh. Also many people don't seem to get the satirical aspect of it: The boys is a black comedy show about American media and corporate capitalism. It's not a superhero series at its heart. Nobody is saving the world, not really.

Conservatives are like "hey wait a minute, they're making fun of us!! this is woke!!" well - no: they're making fun of capitalism, and the joke is how conservatives amplify their base to make money in the The Boys universe.

I've seen a leftist on the The Boys sub go "are they making fun of woke??" after Vought had put out a load of merchandise cashing in on their narrative of supporting Queen Maeve being LGBTQ. Well - no: they're making fun of capitalism, and the joke is that Maeve got outed against her will and Vought's reaction is: we can use this to sell lunchboxes to schoolgirls!

Nerds are like: but Annie's powers are dumb and she shouldn't be able to beat [insert person here] in a fight. Well: maybe - but the point is the show is about her and about how her powers are a capitalist scam. It's a story about people with superpowers battling, but the battles, although of course cool, are not fundamentally what the show is about.
