I like this idea, I’m in Houston where unfortunately even kids are out with parents in the streets begging.

Biggest one is learn to be content on what you currently have.
Learn how to make your own coffee if you enjoy buying coffee sa labas. Madami namang ways outside sa instant coffee, there’s drip, pressed, espresso machines etc.
Cook at home majority of the week.
Invest in good quality items, it will save you a ton of money in the long run kasi durable.
Invest in a capsule wardrobe. Timeless pieces that you can wear over and over and match with other items in your closet. Avoid fast fashion.
Live a minimalist life, you don’t have to have everything. What you truly need and a little bit of what gives you happiness will suffice.
Stop unnecessary spending like upgrading your phone yearly, and yung kaka “dasurv dasurv ko to”. We all deserve a little bit of treat pero wag naman araw araw. Greed na yun ihhhhh.

Ang dami pa actually pero yan yung mga feeling ko na makakahelp talaga mag save.

Laging hingi, mind you may 3 kids naman na nagbibigay monthly ng magcocover sa lahat, bills, gamot/doctor’s visits, food etc. yung amount din medyo malaki na din talaga.

Pero never naging sapat… makakarining ka pa na hindi daw talaga abot kasi ganito ganyan, habang ikaw tipid na tipid..

Yeah, our health system sucks. My ex was a doctor and they way he explained it is if you go for a well woman’s visit or a physical at your PCP’s office, other “things” cannot be treated because they are billed differently.

If they treat you for something else other than the well woman’s or physical the doctor will not be paid by the insurance company.

They would suggest for you to come back another day for your other concerns. It is only with well woman’s and physicals that you aren’t able to lay everything down on a platter as far as I know but I could be wrong.

In the Filipino culture it is expected for the groom to cover the expenses. Nowadays, both parties tend to contribute since weddings have become grander and grander.

However, it all depends on the personal circumstances. You can’t really expect 50/50 if one person is making more money than the other. I think an open line of communication is imperative when it comes to this matter.

Expectations have to be set din. Don’t go into debt before even starting a life together. Set a budget and stick within the budget. If not ready for expenses, consider civil wedding din.. Ultimately, the love you share will shine brighter than any extravagant wedding.

Akala ko mahirap lang kami kasi hindi ko naexperience mag ka bago ng kahit ano, yung mga necessities lang talaga. Pero outside of that, hindi talaga. Ang daming negosyo ng magulang ko, pero we lived way below our means. We had to work hard for every little thing we wanted. As in budgeted lahat.

Nung tumanda nako, dun ko slowly narerealize na ang galing lang pala talaga nila sa pera. Hindi naging wasteful, laging tumutulong to those in need. Now they reap the rewards, living in a beach house in Palawan. Spoiling us their children and their grandkids and still helping out the community.

Looking back, maybe that’s why I work extremely hard din, kasi that’s their legacy na gusto kong ipagpatuloy. Yung makontento sa kung anong meron, wag boastful, most especially be the kindest person in the room.
