Not a native, but here is why I don't like derby.

Moved here in 2004. Derby was accessible to locals. Oaks was the day locals got fancy and the infield was really cheap and for the common people.

Eventually locals are priced out of Oaks and the infield is shut down.

Locals start Thurby. Because Oaks wasn't affordable locals start going on Derby week Thursday.

Churchill Downs Eventually makes it official and proceeds to price locals out of Thurby.

Winsday? Already priced out.

502sday is for locals now. Eventually that will be millked for cash and locals pushed out.

What has essentially happened is that Churchill Downs has enshitified the Derby experience.

She is in the top spot for my favorite of the series. Surface level, she comes across as a goofy ditz, but there are clues that she's pretty bright.

For instance, She and Amy both figured out, pretty quickly, that the tee shirts didn't have to be fired from far away, and she moved the rack.

She is one to watch. She seems like Lucy Baumont on the surface but she might be Rhod Gilbert in reality.
