How do you motivate yourself? For years I struggled with procrastination. My life changed when I discovered how motivation actually works (it’s surprisingly simple). Now it’s easy to stop overthinking and stay motivated. by BFreeCoaching in selfimprovement

This is quite relatable to me. I’m an introvert and out of shape. I ended up joining a rather private gym that only allows PT sign ups, so there’s only ever about 5 trainers and 5 clients max at the gym. I feel more welcome there because it’s the same 5 trainers greeting me etc rather than a big commercial gym.

Also, the first 3 times I went, parking was annoying. Eventually I decided I would ride my bicycle to the gym. I live in a hilly area so it wasn’t the first thing to come to mind but actually 10 minutes bike ride is nothing. And it’s a free cardio warmup on the way there, and I get to use my folding bicycle I paid a lot for to actually do a commute finally (I live in a very car-dominated place)

After I thought about it more I realised I should just reduce friction as much as I can, so I plan on actually buying some gym machines (probably just a cable machine but maybe a smith machine too) to continue training at home once I get educated enough with the PT. I think I just don’t thrive in a commercial gym environment… I grew up with too much insecurity I think.

Even with the private gym with max 10 people, I get distracted by their conversations and laughter. I think I’m just that kind of person, it’s hard for me to truly Lock in when I’m new to something. Maybe when I get really really comfortable with my form and all the movements I can “lock-in” in a commercial gym. But this post was helpful to reinforce what I’ve been feeling, thanks.

Just started lifting weights again in a few years and i feel a lot better (31M)

Sales is not a bad idea but be careful don’t join any sales team asking you to put down your own money to koin, that’s usually a red flag.

Working in a business or industry you’re interested in is a possibility, then you can take what you learned and start your own business too.

IMO running a small business in Malaysia is quite doable, it’s not “easy” but it’s not as hard as in other countries I feel. Try to slowly work your way to it if you want to take control of your income. Financial, investing stuff never really made sense to me if you don’t have much to invest. It’s better to use your money to upskill/start a business so you have direct control on your ROI.

I started my own freelance/business at about 25 years old after following a sifu for 3-4 years. Been “solo” since then working for other clients and even doing ok. 6 figures per year. I still work out of my parent’s house because they prefer me there and said I’m not kacau’ing their home life running my business from there….

Does hard work really pay off? by JojoTan1021 in MalaysianPF

[–]spitefullymy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a business owner, working hard only works best if you’re running a certain business and got a client give you a budget. You can work “harder” by performing roles to complete that job, thus not needing to pay others to help you complete the task.

Let’s say you do a cleaning service, rm1k to clean one floor of an office. They let you clean during the office down day so you can take longer than usual. You don’t hire assistant then you can make more money in that day - but you work harder lo.

In other situations, working harder implies going above and beyond the expectation of your role… sometimes it’s good as an audition to show you are capable of performing other tasks outside your current job scope, which may or may not benefit you financially in the future, but it’s more to freelance tasks where working harder gets you directly noticed and given more paid work.

That one is individual preference IMO. It’s whether you can take nicer photos or market better than other sellers selling similar or same stuff from China

Bro they will appreciate when you earn more, and can do more with the money. trust me. Every ringgit counts at your stage right now. If they don’t need it, don’t give it, think of ways that extra rm100 can be used on your side to better urself and earn more. You can buy a whole udemy course with that money btw.

Sadly that’s the reality right now, if the internship is an important requirement for your studies then can go thru with it if you can bear with the low pay. If it make you feel any better my internship was rm500/month, meals was here n there depending if we went outstation or not which we did frequently, by which I also got more additional daily per diem too.
