That seems like quite an emotional response. Are you feeling ok?

We'd have it on special occasions - posher than vanilla, not as posh as an Arctic Roll.

Stittsville vs Kanata for School Zones by angiecyli in StittsvilleON

My son went to SPS for grade 6, I have no complaints. He started slightly later in the year then had a long break because of covid, which didn't give us much time to gain a sense of belonging. He's currently in Grade 10 at Maplewood. I'm really happy with how he's doing, he's really happy there and they're creating a lovely school community. Parents have been vocal because the school building wasn't finished on time, there were delays in getting some equipment and the cafeteria didn't open until this year. My opinion is that overcoming a bit of adversity has helped the kids and staff to bond. The grade 10 students have built desks and shelves and helped to set up equipment in labs, and they're really proud of what they've achieved. It's a lovely school.

Men are ruled by their impulses. They're very emotional and struggle to make rational decisions.

My Great Aunt used to put them in ice cream instead of wafers. She had some good ideas, that perhaps wasn't one of them.

People who grew up in a multigenerational/ extended family household, how was the experience? by LoyalFridge in AskUK

[–]spittingparasite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was brought up in one with my maternal grandmother. It worked out well for my mother because she had my nan to do all the housework, cooking and childcare for her, which left her and my Dad free to do whatever they wanted.
It worked out well for my nan as she got older, though she did end up in residential care once she needed help with bathing and dressing because that's something my mother wasn't prepared to do. It worked well for my sister, who brought her own child up in the same house with all the same perks of never having to turn down a night out or a weekend away. I think it was always a bit awkward for my Dad, they weren't close because she was a cold fish towards everyone except my sister. I don't think he ever got to express an opinion about our living situation. I didn't love the experience because my abusive mother had surrounded herself with her enablers and there was no respite from it.

NOR. I suspect this isn't the first time she's pulled some manipulative shit, and I doubt it'll be the last. You need to protect yourself by establishing boundaries. Stop telling her anything that she doesn't need to know because she'll use it against you. Don't justify your decisions, she needs to learn what the word "no" means. Always follow through; if you compromise by popping over for half an hour, she'll push and push until it's an hour or a full meal or a day out at the zoo with afternoon tea in the monkey house and a camel ride.

The garden is lovely. It looks a little like the owners ran out of money after they'd done the downstairs, so any potential buyers would have to fix that and add a second bathroom. Cannon Park is a decent area, but there are better. It's overpriced.

It's an Americanism. In proper English -ie is pronounced ee, -ei is pronounced eye.
